At the heart of workplace bullying and mobbing is employee exploitation and lack of employer accountability. In toxic work environments, employers prioritize fear of organizational liability over human well-being. Instead of addressing psychological abuse, toxic employers willfully ignore it because they believe acknowledging it opens the door for liability. So they mislead the reporting employee to believe there’s a complaint process in place but do nothing to address the situation. The reporting employee succumbs to the psychological stress of their toxic work environment — the unrelenting bullying and lack of response from the employer — and voluntarily leaves, is fired, or dies from the stress. This negligence violates employees’ basic human rights to fair process and to be treated with dignity and respect. Anti-discrimination law has proven ineffective to protect workers in many of these situations. Join us: WPSAct.org #EndWorkplaceAbuse #HoldEmployersAccountable #stopbullyingandmobbing

Employees often expect retaliation to be clear and unmistakable. Instead, it usually arrives through subtle shifts. A colder tone. Closer monitoring. Less support. Each change alone may seem minor. But the law evaluates the full pattern over time. What feels confusing in the moment can become clear when viewed as a sequence. #employmentlaw #workplacediscrimination #employmentattorney #sexualharrassment #protectyourrights

If your job makes you feel uncomfortable or targeted because of who you are, that is not “just part of work.” Harassment based on race, disability, gender, religion, age, or other protected characteristics may be subtle or obvious. Either way, it is unlawful and unacceptable. 📞 You are not alone. Bullies target your best people at work. That's why it's important for organizations to measure and stop workplace harm before it becomes a problem. Proactively monitoring psychosocial hazards is one way to do that. The Adverse Work Experiences framework helps identify health harming workplace experiences. See comments to take my assessment.
