Sometimes you break the wall, and sometimes the wall breaks you! Watch this demolition attempt go horribly wrong when a worker literally knocks the ground out from under his own feet.
Rule #1: Don't Cut the Branch You're Sitting On
This video is a painful lesson in structural integrity and situational awareness:
Structural Collapse: The worker made a fatal error by assuming the ledge he was standing on was independent of the wall he was hitting. As the masonry gave way, it took the support structure with it.
The "Expert" Move: It appears he took the hammer to show the other guy "how it's done," only to demonstrate exactly what not to do. He positioned himself directly in the collapse zone.
A Soft Landing: Luckily for him, there was a body of water below! That muddy creek likely saved him from broken bones or worse, though his ego definitely took a bruise.
It’s a classic example of why safety harnesses and proper planning are essential in demolition.
