Follow @andreakristene for holistic home remedies 🌱 I couldn’t fit all the recipes in the caption, here’s a few and comment “recipe” for the rest 💜 Deodorant: Small batch (fills 2.5 oz deodorant tube): • 2 tbsp coconut oil • 3 tbsp shea butter • 2 tbsp beeswax • 3 tbsp arrowroot powder • Essential oils Place coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax in a mason jar Set the jar in a pot of simmering water (double boiler style) until melted Remove from heat and stir in arrowroot powder & essential oils Pour into a deodorant tube or jar and let set 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱 DIY Tinted Lip Balm Recipe: 5 tbsp coconut oil 2 tbsp beeswax pellets 2 tbsp shea butter ½–1 tsp beetroot powder (adjust for tint) ½ tsp vitamin E oil (optional) 5 drops essential oil (optional) Add coconut oil, beeswax, and shea butter to a heat-safe jar or measuring cup. Place over a saucepan of gently simmering water (double boiler). Stir until completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat and stir in beetroot powder, vitamin E, and essential oil. Pour into tins or tubes while still warm. I love this recipe for dark eye circles, puffiness, wrinkles and fine lines. It is light weight, non-greasy, slightly cooling and absorbs quickly leaving your skin feeling SO soft. Infused green tea oil works to reduce puffiness as caffeine tightens blood vessels which helps make the skin appear less swollen and more refreshed. The Aloe Vera is cooling and hydrating, the shea butter and rosehip oil moisturize and the essential oils and Vitamin E support skin regeneration and healing. 🌿Green Tea Under-Eye Cream for Dark Circles Ingredients: •1/2 tablespoon (7g) Shea Butter (I use refined) •1/2 tablespoon (6g) Rosehip oil •1/2 tablespoon (6g) Green Tea Infused Oil (see instructions below to make this) •1/2 tablespoon (6g) Aloe Vera Gel •2 drops Vitamin E Oil •1/4 teaspoon Beeswax pellets (*increase to 1/2 teaspoon for warmer climates) Optional: •1 drop of Lavender or frankincense essential oil Instructions: 🌱To Make Green Tea Infused Oil: Place 2 tablespoons of dried green tea leaves in a small glass jar and covering them with 1/4 cup of a carrier oil like jojoba oil. Let it sit for 1-2 weeks in a warm place, shaking the jar occasionally. Then strain the oil to remove the tea leaves. 🌿To make the Under Eye Cream: 1. In a double boiler, melt the shea butter and beeswax until fully liquefied. 2. Add the rosehip oil and stir to combine 3. Remove from heat and allow it to cool slightly. Add the green tea-infused oil, vitamin E oil and essential oils (if using). Stir to combine. 4. Using a small handheld mixer, slowly add the aloe vera gel a little at a time while mixing with the other components. As it cools, continue stirring to achieve smooth texture. 5. Transfer the cream into a small jar container with a lid. Allow the mixture to cool completely at room temperature. It will solidify slightly as it cools. 🍃To Use: Gently tap a small amount under each eye with your ring finger, applying morning and night. This recipe fills a 1oz jar and will last 2 weeks when stored in a cool, dry place. To last longer, add 0.5-1% of a preservative like Geogard or Optiphen and test pH to ensure it’s within limits. Nature already did the work…and since it can’t be patented, they don’t want us to know about it. The same goes with the pet industry as well. For example, instead of flea, tick, and heart worm junk, I give me dogs garlic and other natural supplements. These are a few of the simple, everyday practices I do that help me feel grounded, energized, and well. Oil pulling is one I never skip. A tablespoon of coconut oil, swished around for 10–15 minutes, then spit into the trash. Sometimes I add a drop of peppermint essential oil for that fresh, clean feeling. It supports oral balance, helps keep the mouth healthy, and honestly changed how I think about toothpaste and mouthwash. Once you feel the difference, you won’t go back. For skin, tallow balm has been my non-negotiable. Dry patches, irritation, constant breakouts…gone. I use my @arvoti tallow every single day and my skin has never looked or felt healthier. It’s deeply nourishing without all the lab-made fillers, preservatives, or hormone-disrupting junk. When I need a gentle energy boost, I do a simple morning shot: 1 tablespoon olive oil, 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, and a pinch of cayenne. It’s deeply comforting, helps the body unwind, supports sore joints and sleep. Real food. Ancient wisdom. Anyone recognize where the bottle is from ? 🫠😭 I found an almost empty one at my parent’s so I used the container to make some more homemade mouthwash 👇🏻 2 tbsp whole cloves 2-3 cinnamon sticks 5-6 drops of peppermint essential oil (I used these quantities for a little over 2 cups of water - adjust according to desired “strength” of the mouthwash) Pour boiling water over the herbs and let it steep for a few hours or overnight. Strain the mixture, add the peppermint essential oil and store in a clean glass or re-used mouthwash bottle. Lasts for about 1 month :) #deinfluencing #deinfluence #mouthwash

Did you know? It takes 22 seconds for essential oil molecules to reach your brain. And after 2 minutes they’ve reached your bloodstream. And after 20 minutes they have reached every single cell in your body. Thats pretty impressive right? Yesterday, on our way back from Kariba Lula had a mother of all tantrums because she wanted to sit on my lap and I needed her to stay in her car seat. It didn’t help matters that the sun was in her eyes also 🫠 Luckily, I had one of my favourite calming oils, Adaptiv, on me so I wafted the bottle around her then added a drop to my hands for an extra diffusion boost and you can see how quickly she calmed down. This whole video is 1 minute 43 seconds long and I started filming when I got my Adaptiv out.. she had been screaming for a while as you can tell by her blotchy face!! There are so many wonderfully calming oils which I could have also used in this situation, but this just happened to be the one I had on hand. It’s an amazing oil that helps your body to balance itself out whilst you adapt to the new situation you are in - so in this case she needed the extra support to be in her car seat which she hates at the best of times on a 15min journey, let alone 45 mins in to an 8hr journey 🫠 And not only did it calm her down, but it helped everyone else in the car calm down as the screaming was getting everyone rather overwhelmed. Stir and put over area where you have pain-wrap area so it doesn’t stain clothing. 2.) castor oil and peppermint oil-fill up roller ball bottle with castor oil add 10 to 12 drops of peppermint essential oil. use it on temples on pulse points it can help relieve headaches and tension 3.) castor oil and clove oil= help clear up toenail fungus. You can also use for cold sores. I just use a little bit of castor oil in my hand with a few drops of clove essential oil -you can make this ahead of time in a container. 4.) castor oil and tea tree oil= can help acne or breakouts. Fill up roller bottle with castor oil add 10 to 12 drops of tea tree oil. Roll it on area where you have a flareup. 5.) castor oil and baking soda= age spot lightener. Equal parts castor oil to baking soda -make a paste. gently exfoliate the skin where the spot is and leave it for 5-10 minutes then rinse off. It also works as a facial scrub to use once or twice a month. You can also use it on cold sores, warts, skin tags, etc..6.) castor oil and eucalyptus= DIY vapor rub. use quarter size of castor oil in palm and add one drop of eucalyptus rub the castor oil together in hands and apply to neck and chest. 7) castor oil lavender= can help promote sleep by rubbing it on the bottoms of the feet. I just do a quarter size castor oil in my palm and add a few drops of lavender rub together and apply to the feet. 8.) castor oil potato slice= reduce puffiness, dark circles, plump up fine lines. use thin slices of potato and dip in Castor oil- place it under eyes for 10 to 15 mins. 9.) castor oil pack plus castor oil= promote body’s natural detox process. minimize time when you are starting out 20-45 minutes. remove the pack. 10.) castor oil= excellent hydration and healing for dry cracked lips.
