Cheese & Leek Bread We used to call this 'Herb Bread' when I was a kid. It's basically a giant scone that we used to eat warm and buttered and dipped in soup! There's no yeast, so there's no kneading or proving or waiting around...Just throw it all together and pop it in the oven! I've done loads of versions of this but cheese and leek is one of my favourites, the recipe's below - let me know if you want to give it a try, A x Feeds 4-6 500g self raising flour 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp dried parsley 2 leeks finely sliced 110g butter or margarine 175g grated cheddar  200ml water A little milk to brush on top Heat the oven to 200C (fan) Place the sliced leek in a pan with a drizzle of oil. Fry for five minutes until soft. Place the flour in a large mixing bowl. Stir in the baking powder, dried parsley (you can use oregano or mixed herbs if you prefer) and salt and pepper. Add the butter or margarine. Use your finger tips to rub it into the flour until it disappears. Mix in the grated cheddar and leeks until evenly dispersed.  Add the water. Use your hands to mix it together until you have a smoothish dough. Place the dough on a large greased or lined baking tray press it down until you have a thick circle roughly 20cm across. Brush the top of the loaf with a little milk. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. If the top is cooking too quickly, just cover it on foil for the last minutes of baking. 💾Save this recipe for later HERE ⤵️ Κάνε 1 👍 και άσε μια ❤️ αν σου άρεσε η συνταγή και ακολούθησε για περισσότερες! Κοφτό Μακαρονάκι με σπανάκι και κοτόπουλο...Είναι τόσο νοστιμο!! Υλικά 500 γρ. φιλέτο μπούτι κοτόπουλο (κομμένο σε μικρά κομμάτια) 250 γρ. κοφτό μακαρονάκι 150 γρ. σπανάκι 1 μεγάλο κρεμμύδι 2 κ.σ. πελτές ντομάτας 1 σκελίδα σκόρδου 50 γρ. ελαιόλαδο (5 κ.σ.) 1 κ.γ. αλάτι 1/2 κ.γ. πιπέρι 1/2 κ.γ. πάπρικα γλυκιά 600 γρ. ζωμό λαχανικών (2,5 κούπες) Εκτέλεση Σε ένα τηγάνι ρίξε το ελαιόλαδο και σοτάρισε το κρεμμύδι για 1 λεπτό. Ρίξε τον πελτέ ντομάτας, το σκόρδο, τα μπαχαρικά και ανακάτεψε. Πρόσθεσε το φιλέτο μπούτι κοτόπουλο και σοτάρισε για 2 λεπτά. Πρόσθεσε το ζωμό λαχανικών, κλείσε το καπάκι και μαγείρεψε σε μέτρια φωτιά για 20 λεπτά. Ρίξε το σπανάκι και ανακάτεψε μέχρι να πέσει ο όγκος του. Ρίξε το κοφτό μακαρονάκι, ανακάτεψε, κλείσε το καπάκι και μαγείρεψε για 10 λεπτά. Σέρβιρε και απόλαυσε! 🇬🇧👇🏻 Ditalini Pasta with chicken and Spinach!! Ingredients 500 g chicken thigh fillet (cut into small pieces) 250 g ditalini pasta 150 g spinach 1 large onion 2 tbsp tomato paste 1 clove garlic 50 g olive oil (5 tbsp) 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper 1/2 tsp sweet paprika 600 g vegetable broth (2.5 cups) Instructions In a pan add the olive oil and sauté the onion for 1 minute. Add the tomato paste, garlic, spices and stir. Add the chicken thigh fillet and sauté for 2 minutes. Add the vegetable broth, cover with the lid and cook over medium heat for 20 minutes. Add the spinach and stir until it softens. Add the short pasta, stir, cover with the lid and cook for 10 minutes. Baked Eggy Cheese & Ham Toast ...or as my friend calls it - 'Amy's Cheggy Bread' 😂 I'm sharing a new mini series next week - 1 Air fryer gammon joint = 3 dinners, so I had some lovely ham in the fridge. This is next level Cheggy Bread! I've written up the recipe below - Let me know if you'll be making it this weekend!!! A x 4 slices of crusty white bread Butter 150g grated cheddar cheese 1/2 tsp dijon mustard 2 eggs beaten Ham Ground black pepper -Heat the oven to 180C (fan) -Butter one side of the bread and lay it butter side down on a baking tray. -Mix the grated cheese, beaten egg, mustard and black pepper together. -Place some ham on top of the bread *my ham was thick so I tore it into small pieces, but if it's thin you can do a whole slice - Divide the mixture evenly between the slices of bread, spreading it right up to the edges. -Bake for around 15-18 minutes, until the cheesy topping is golden brown and puffed up and the bread is crisp #homemade #lunchrecipes #brunch #lunchideas #lunchinspo #weekendfood #sundaybrunch #recipes #cookbook #cheese #sotasty #grilledcheese #huffposttaste #f52grams #comfortfood
