Ad: Thank you for the screen free connection time @feather.down.farms ! . Genuinely, hand on heart- when Featherdown contacted me to ask if we’d like to try out a glamping farm stay with NO Wi-Fi or electricity with our rapidly aging tweens and teens I gulped and thought- eek! What will the kids say?! . And I was right to be worried because they thought it sounded absolutely horrific 😂 . But you know me and how much I adore getting the kids out into nature and switching off from that constant lure of the screen whenever we can. So I told them tales of the wonders of the countryside and benefits of fresh air (plus bribed them with a car boot full of their favourite snacks 😅👌🙌🏼) and we headed off to beautiful Dorset to East Shilvinghampton Farm. . The kids were enamoured with the on-site alpacas and goats immediately , then even happier to see that the tent was more of a luxury chalet and had beds with comfy mattresses and thick duvets! . It didn’t take long for the phones and lack of charging points to be forgotten about (or at least not mentioned so often!) and they got back into the habit of playing, goofing about, adventuring and learning some new skills to boot! From collecting wood and wheelbarrow races to making pizzas in an outdoor oven and charades by oil lamp . Thank you @feather.down.farms for the slower pace of life for a weekend. For family time without screen time battles. For connection and remembering to not take ourselves too seriously. For bonding over dishes and fire lighting, cupboard bed snuggles and marshmallow toasting. . The verdict? They loved it. (Of course.) We had the most refreshing trip over the weekend at @feather.down.farms 🌷 off-grid, with no wifi or electricity in our tent I was a bit nervous to stay there just the two of us. But we had the most special time exploring the beautiful scenery at Hidcote Manor farm. From feeding the lambs, collecting our morning eggs, playing with the wheelbarrows until 9pm after making friends with the other children staying at the farm. It was the most special place to create childhood memories and we will definitely be back. I would love to try a different @feather.down.farms location next time! The Cotswolds well and truly has my heart, so when we were kindly invited on a 2 night stay I knew I couldn’t turn it down. It was also my first time driving a long(ish) distance by myself, I dreamed of the days I could pack the car to the brim and take my children away, just us! Such a magical weekend 🌼 AD-Gifted stay
