MEFridays in New Orleans during Lent mean FRIED FISH PLATES! 🐟
For years, the fish plate at St. Gabriel the Archangel, in Gentilly Woods but super close to Pontchartrain Park, has been my FAVORITE!
For $12 you get two nice size pieces of fried catfish, with all the traditional Black New Orleans fish plate fixins: potato salad, mac and cheese, peas, bread, cake and a cold drink. You can also substitute baked fish or green salad. 😋
I love that there’s tons of close parking, plenty tables to eat inside, and that it’s a process that gets more efficient each year.
