Natural fixative for pastels, chalks, ochres and charcoal. Just before clearing up last night after teaching a wonderful 2 hours on pigments via @plants_and_colour I recorded a little how to clip for you. If like me you don't like using expensive bought sprays to fix your dusty drawings, and if you also like to reduce waste, here's a recipe for you. I feel it's good enough for artist quality as glair still looks great in 1000 year old manuscript illuminations. I have yet to make a perfect vegan substitute, but #veglair works ok for kids' drawings and the recipe is in my book. I am working on it. Should be ready in time for the next book! Go make your own fixative spray and let me know how you get on. Very common little bottles like these little reused vitamin ones are ideal, as you get a finer mist. I keep my glair in the fridge and use my nose to tell me how it is. Spotless bottles = long lasting natural materials. And don't forget to paint in tempera or make rum advocaat with the yolk! I didn't have any time to organise a giveaway for my 7000 and 8000 followers marks, so I am going to giveaway some more great earth arts materials info for you to try out over the coming weeks. I am not at home enough to organise mailing things, so clips it is.
