😴 Baby’s finally asleep after rocking, bouncing, and shushing for what felt like hours… And now? My husband can’t sleep. 🫠 I didn’t realise I was married to a second newborn. 😂 Have you been there too? 💤 Real talk: sleep shouldn’t be this exhausting for the whole house. This might be our new favorite part of the bedtime routine, so save this and send it to another mama who loves sweet, simple ways to end the day. 🫶🏻 Once your little one is tucked in and the lights are low, take a quiet moment together to say thank you (and goodnight) to their body: 💛 “Thank you, feet, for running and jumping today. Goodnight, feet.” 💛 “Thank you, tummy, for all the yummy snacks. Goodnight, tummy.” 💛 “Thank you, arms, for giving big hugs. Goodnight, arms.” 💛 “Thank you, heart, for loving so big. Goodnight, heart.” 💛 “Thank you, body, for helping me play and rest. Goodnight, body.” It’s such a sweet, grounding way to end the day, a moment of calm connection that helps kids feel safe in their bodies and ready for rest. 🌙 Why it works: This simple practice taps into mindfulness and co-regulation, two key tools for better sleep. By slowing their breathing, focusing their attention, and ending the day with gratitude, your child’s nervous system naturally shifts out of “go mode” and into calm, sleepy readiness. Their body starts releasing melatonin and easing cortisol, the science-y way of saying: peaceful sleep ahead. 🧠💤 A reminder that bedtime doesn’t have to be perfect or fancy, sometimes the most powerful routines are the simple, soulful ones! ✨ If bedtime still feels tough, comment RESCUE below for my 30-minute Sleep Rescue Call ($60). You’ll fill out a short questionnaire before we chat so I can review your little one’s current sleep challenges, then we’ll hop on a 30-minute call where I’ll walk you through actionable steps and a plan to get your child sleeping more independently. Need it all written out? You can also add on a full written PDF of your customized sleep plan for just $25. Follow for more gentle sleep tools, connection-focused routines, and mom-to-mom encouragement. 🤍 . . . . #babysleeptips #toddlerbedtime #momsofinstagram #gentlesleep #sleepconsultant #mindfulparenting #bedtimeroutine #babysleephelp #momlife #sleepcoach baby sleep routine | toddler bedtime routine | mindful bedtime practice | gentle sleep strategies | baby sleep consultant tips | sleep help for toddlers

Think your baby’s bedtime is fine?
These 3 signs might say otherwise 👇 1️⃣ They get hyper or cranky before bed
2️⃣ They’re in a nap transition and bedtime feels chaotic
3️⃣ They rise very early in the morning Most parents assume a later bedtime will help the baby sleep longer — but that often backfires. When babies stay awake too long, their body releases stress hormones like cortisol, making it harder for them to settle and stay asleep. 🕒 Try this:
Gradually move bedtime earlier — 20 minutes at a time over a few days — and watch how your baby responds. A well-timed bedtime can make a huge difference in night sleep and early wakings. Want more practical tips like this?

Once your baby hits 3 months old, their sleep is shifting in a big way — and that means bedtime starts to matter more than ever. Around this age, their circadian rhythm becomes more organized, and their sleep cycles begin maturing. This natural shift makes it easier for them to fall asleep for the night around 7pm. What’s really interesting is that we actually see circadian rhythms begin developing even earlier than this. In the newborn stage, babies start showing signs of day–night organization as they consolidate longer stretches overnight. But by about 3 months, this rhythm becomes strong enough that bedtime timing really starts to impact sleep quality. In the early evening, your baby’s body begins producing melatonin — the sleepy hormone that helps them relax and settle. When bedtime gets pushed too late, instead of getting sleepier, their body releases cortisol, the alert “stress hormone” that makes them wired, restless, and unable to settle. When that happens, you’ll often notice: ✨ Frequent night wakings ✨ Short or broken nighttime sleep ✨ Early morning wake-ups ✨ Difficulty settling or connecting sleep cycles Getting bedtime right around this stage makes such a difference in helping your baby sleep longer and more restoratively. But the truth is: supporting this starts long before 3 months, which is exactly why I teach The Full Feedings Method® from birth. full feedings®, the dreamfeed, flexible wake windows, and a predictable rhythm all help your baby’s sleep biology develop smoothly — without sleep training, without strict schedules, and without ever having to cry it out. If you want to understand how to support sleep from day one, comment LINK and I’ll send you everything you need to get started. 👶 Lots of parents ask me how to transfer a sleeping baby without waking them up… And this is one of the first tricks I teach: ✨ Feet first 🍑 Bum next 🧠 Head last 🧠 Why it works: This gentle movement helps prevent triggering the Moro reflex (aka the startle reflex). When babies are laid down flat too quickly, they can feel like they’re falling, and that can wake them instantly. 💤 Feet first transfers give their body a gradual sense of grounding, which keeps their nervous system calm so they stay asleep. 📚 This tip is backed by pediatric sleep experts, newborn care specialists, and what we know about infant reflexes. 💛 Save this for your next nap time transfer. ✅ Follow me fir baby sleep help ✅ Tag a friend who needs this tip ✅ Save this for tomorrow’s nap #babysleep #gentlesleep #morroreflex #babytransfer #sleeptips #tiredmum #firsttimemum #newbornsleep #sleepwithoutcrying #momlifeuk #sleepcoach #fourthtrimester #safesleep #naptricks #sleephelp

If I could go back and tell myself a few things about the first weeks with a newborn, it would be this: You’re probably stressing about the wrong things. Those early weeks aren’t about perfect schedules or perfect sleep. They’re about safety, bonding, and helping your baby’s nervous system adjust to the world. Here are a few things that truly don’t matter in the first weeks: 1. Sleeping through the night Newborns are biologically wired to wake. For milk. For comfort. For reassurance. That’s not bad sleep. That’s newborn sleep. ✨ A perfect routine Cluster feeding, day–night confusion, growth spurts… everything shifts constantly in those early weeks. Rhythm comes later. ✨ “Bad habits” Feeding to sleep. Contact naps. Rocking. Holding. You’re not creating problems. You’re helping a tiny nervous system feel safe in a brand new world. ✨ A spotless house Laundry can wait. Dishes can wait. Your recovery and your baby come first. ✨ Everyone else’s opinions Early motherhood is loud. But your baby doesn’t need perfection. They need responsive, calm support. But here’s the interesting part most people don’t explain: Even though newborns don’t need strict schedules yet… their nervous system still loves predictable signals. The brain learns through repetition and safety cues. That’s why one of the most helpful things you can start early is a gentle evening structure. Not a strict schedule. Not sleep training. Just a predictable sequence that tells your baby’s brain: “The day is ending. You’re safe. It’s time to rest.” When that happens, the nervous system starts shifting from alert mode → sleep mode. That’s exactly the foundation I walk parents through inside my 7 Days to Calm Nights system. Simple steps that help regulate your baby’s nervous system and create calmer evenings — which is usually where better nights begin. ❤️ If your baby is 0–6 months and nights feel unpredictable, comment “SLEEP” and I’ll send you the details 🌙 #newbornsleep #fourthtrimester #newmomlife #gentlesleep #tiredmomsclub postpartumjourney babysleeptruths

Comment GENTLE and I’ll DM you a link to get my Slumberbee Baby sleep class for just $30! This was day 3 of gentle sleep training my 3rd baby a year ago and she was already doing so well and starting to settle herself to sleep with just a little bit of cribside comforting. Every baby will progress at a different pace, but my program takes anywhere from 1 week on the low end to 4 weeks on the high end for a baby to be considered “sleep trained”. My approach is totally gentle and responsive and your baby will gradually build up a sleep association with their crib rather than only associating sleep with being on the boob, being rocked, being cuddled, etc. which means they’ll know how to connect their cycles and start to sleep in much longer stretches! As a holistic baby and toddler sleep consultant, I believe that guiding your child to sleep—without relying on the cry-it-out method—can bring amazing neurological benefits! By fostering a sense of safety and security, we help reduce stress hormones, like cortisol, that can impact brain development. When dads or caregivers join in this transition, it also boosts oxytocin, enhancing bonding and emotional regulation. This nurturing approach eases nighttime anxiety, making sleep a comforting and connected experience for your child. 💕 Tap ❤️ if you agree that a gentle touch is the best way to support healthy brain development and strong family bonds! #HolisticSleep #ParentingTips #GentleSleep
