If the power goes out, everything goes down… Well, it doesn’t have to. Having a reliable source of heat like this (or a course that makes sense for you where you live) is crucial. Power goes out and I can still go about my daily activities. Plus!! Putting on clothes that have just been warmed by the fire is…incredible. So cozy. My woodstove is not just about heat, it is about overall self-reliance on my homestead. I am so grateful I have it in my home and life! I can have a kettle for boiling water or to be a natural humidifier, cook food, warm food, dry my clothes, collect the ash for my garden, chickens, soap, and for traction on ice. My bread dough also rises by the fire in the winter! Think about the future…you need systems in place now for them the current system fails. Not if, when.
