BLIn case anyone forgot, I am not a robot. Sometimes I do things that aren’t optimal. Mum caught a moment on camera and thought we would share.

As a guide dog it is my job to keep Mum safe getting her from point A to point B, wherever she wants to go. In my defense, I did exactly that in this clip. So there was nothing wrong with my tasking. I did, however, step in between a woman trying to take a picture of her son with their new puppy. But THAT is not what I did wrong either.

Mum always likes to say I love the Littles. I most definitely do. She only saw shadows on the bench, so Mum did not see the child or the puppy. In fact, she didn’t see the puppy until she played back the video. But not only did I see the puppy, I smelled it and I was curious. I decided to walk very close to the bench, which is not unusual for me, but it wasn’t for our safety, it was for my curiosity.

Mum gave me a quick verbal correction to keep moving it along, and quite frankly, I hardly hesitated. Alas, I am a dog. I get curious. I still did my job. But I am in fact NOT a robot.

The people were gracious with us. Mum really appreciated that.
