🚨 BREAKING: SCIENCE REVEALS THE TRUTH ABOUT MENOPAUSE & WEIGHT GAIN 🚨 For years, women have been misled—by influencers, personal trainers, and even their own doctors—into believing that menopausal weight gain and belly fat are a personal failure. But the latest research says otherwise. 📢 A new study published in Circulation Research (Ayesh et al., 2024) confirms that hormonal changes—not willpower—are driving weight gain and dangerous fat redistribution after menopause. 🔥 THE REALITY: ➡️ Estrogen decline = metabolic slowdown. Your body burns fewer calories, even at rest. ➡️ Fat shifts to the abdomen (visceral fat), increasing risks for heart disease, stroke, & diabetes. ➡️ Medications prescribed to women (antidepressants, β-blockers, insulin) accelerate weight gain. ➡️ Hypertension rates DOUBLE after menopause. ➡️ Heart failure risk surges within 5-6 years post-menopause. It’s NOT about willpower. It’s science. And yet, women are still being gaslit by a healthcare system that fails to recognize these biological realities. 🚀 WHAT YOU CAN DO: 💪 Strength training & protein to preserve lean mass 🥗 A diet that supports metabolic health (protein, fiber, healthy fats) 💊 Consider HRT—it’s more than symptom relief, it can protect long-term health 😴 Prioritize sleep & stress management—both impact metabolism 👩‍⚕️ Women deserve evidence-based solutions, not shame. If your doctor, trainer, or favorite influencer is telling you that menopause weight gain is just a matter of “eating less and moving more,” they are behind the science. 💬 Have you been made to feel like menopause weight gain is YOUR fault? Let’s discuss. ⬇️ #BreakingScience #MenopauseTruth #MetabolicHealth #MenopauseWeightGain #MenopauseAndScience #HormonalChanges #HealthyAging

You’re Not “Gaining Fat” — You’re Just Bloated ‼️😮Harvard Gastroenterologist Explains Bloating is not the same as “gaining fat”! It’s real, and it happens to everyone. Whether it’s hormones, stress, or even healthy foods - your body can puff up by the end of the day, and it’s NORMAL. No need to suck in your stomach or explain yourself. Hydrate, track your cycle, and support your gut. Bloating doesn’t define you, and you shouldn’t feel ashamed. Stop letting people judge something so natural. It’s time to understand bloating, not criticize it. #bloating #womenhealth #drsethi

Menopause, marking the end of a woman's reproductive years, typically occurs in the late 40s to early 50s and is characterized by significant hormonal changes, primarily a decline in estrogen and progesterone levels. These hormonal shifts can lead to various physical and emotional symptoms, including hot flashes, night sweats, and sleep disturbances. Mood swings, irritability, anxiety, and depression are common due to the fluctuating hormone levels. Women might also experience cognitive changes, such as difficulty concentrating and memory lapses. What really happens inside your body when you get pregnant 👶🏻⚜️ From the moment of conception, your entire body begins an extraordinary biological adaptation. Every organ changes its function to support another life. First trimester (weeks 1 to 12) 🧠 The brain increases production of progesterone and hCG, which suppress ovulation and signal the uterus to maintain its lining. ❤️ The heart starts pumping harder, raising cardiac output by up to 40 percent to meet higher oxygen demands. 🫁 The lungs expand breathing depth so more oxygen reaches the embryo. 🧍🏻‍♀️ The digestive system slows down because progesterone relaxes smooth muscles, leading to nausea, reflux, and bloating. Second trimester (weeks 13 to 26) 🫀 Blood volume increases rapidly and can nearly double by week 28, which explains mild swelling or nosebleeds. 🧠 The placenta takes full control, acting as a new organ that regulates hormones, transports nutrients, and detoxifies harmful compounds. 🫁 The diaphragm lifts as the uterus grows, slightly reducing lung capacity, though breathing efficiency stays high. 🩸 Kidneys enlarge and filter about 50 percent more blood to clear waste for both mother and baby. Third trimester (weeks 27 to 40) 💗 The uterus weighs over 2 pounds and compresses almost every abdominal organ, shifting intestines, pressing the bladder, and pushing the stomach upward, which causes heartburn. 🧠 Estrogen reaches its peak and stimulates milk duct growth in preparation for breastfeeding. 🦵 The circulatory system faces the heaviest load, and pressure on the inferior vena cava can increase varicose veins or mild leg swelling. 🫀 The heart itself changes position, being pushed upward and slightly to the left by the enlarged uterus. Pregnancy is not just about growing a belly. It is a full-body physiological transformation designed to create and sustain new life. ✨ Cartoons video credits to YT CasiCreativoEnglish ⚜️Follow @marinunesnutrition for more science-based fitness tips! #pregnancyfacts #womenshealth #pregnancyscience #fitmomjourney #motherhoodjourney #femalehealth #fitnessandhealth #prenatalwellness

♥️ Comment ‘GUIDE’ for our FREE Postpartum Guide that saved us. It has lots of health, support and little tips & tricks we wish we had known earlier! . For breastfeeding moms (like in our situation) it’s more realistic around 6 months. At this point if baby is feeding enough during the day and getting their calories, they don’t wake up from hunger every time they wake up. Make sure to check with their pediatrician first! For breastfeeding moms it’s crucial to establish breastfeeding in the 4-6 weeks. We prefer to let our baby feed on demand during this time which includes day and night. If you skip a feed in the night in the first weeks it can affect milk supply as it works on supply and demand. If you do skip a feeding make sure to pump so that your supply doesn’t dip. We did this with our first baby and it worked out really well! If dad can take even one chunk of time, a shift in the night and offer the baby other ways to soothe the baby (rocking, patting, pacifier, etc) then mom can get that extra chunk of sleep. At this point breastfeeding is established and if baby is feeding every time they wake up and it’s very frequent then other ways of soothing can be helpful. This is way easier coming from dad than mom who has the milk! For pumping and formula feeding moms this can be a huge help and dad can take shifts even within the first week. Thoughts? Would you try it? Have you? . Sources: (Tikotzky et al., 2010; Insana & Montgomery-Downs, 2014) (Hiscock & Wake, 2002; Hiscock et al., 2008) (Estienne et al., 2024; Lee & White-Traut, 2014) 4. Breastfeeding at night is linked with more frequent wakings; dads stepping in helps break the “feed-to-sleep” cycle. (Hershon et al., 2024; Jafar et al., 2021) Uninterrupted REM sleep restores hormones and resets emotional balance. One of the first signs of perimenopause isn’t a hot flash or a missed period. It’s that persistent thought: “I just don’t feel like myself.” For many women, this shift shows up as anxiety, irritability, fatigue, or brain fog long before any obvious physical symptoms. It’s your hormones changing, not you “losing it.” If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone and there’s help. The more we understand what’s happening in our bodies, the better we can care for them. Don’t take this offensively, I genuinely want my beliefs to be challenged. I don’t hate kids, in fact I love them and they love me too but I just don’t see myself raising them at the cost of my own ambitions. But again, i don’t know if society will let me live peacefully with that choice 🫠 If you think this was insensitive and you have kids, I’m genuinely sorry. But we all, as females, have been sold this propaganda that this is what we should want and I have never heard a good reason or a selfless reason as to why people have wanted kids??? I just wanna know man. . . . . . #femaleproblems #babies #kids #adultlife #struggles #relatable
