Making your own humous is easy, cheap, and way better than the shop stuff: Simmer 1 tin of chickpeas for 10mins with 1/4 tsp bicarb. Then whiz with 1 clove garlic, 2 tbsp tahini (or more of you’d like), 1 tsp salt and a generous glut of olive oil. Whizz until really smooth and you can also add extras e.g. juice of half a lemon, 1/2 tsp cumin, 1tsp smoked paprika, a pinch of MSG……. Enjoy #homemadeisbest #humous #mezelover

Recipe: (25mins) 1 tin chickpeas 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda 125ml cup tahini, I like to use Al Nakhil for the best flavour 1 clove garlic 60ml lemon juice, about 1.5 lemons usually About ½ tsp salt, then more to taste 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil – use the good stuff here if you can! ½ tsp ground cumin ¼ tsp smoked paprika, optional but delicious Iced water, approx. 100ml but varies so add it gradually Instructions: 1. Start by adding the chickpeas to a saucepan and covering them with an inch or 2 of water, with 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda 2. Simmer for 20mins until they’ve completely broken down, then drain and rinse under cold water for 30 seconds 3. Meanwhile, add the garlic, salt, lemon juice, cumin & paprika to the blender with a splash of ice cold water and blend until the garlic has broken down 4. Then add the tahini and olive oil, along with another splash of water and blend again until light and creamy 5. Finally, add the cooled chickpeas and continue blending until completely smooth, adding more iced water or olive oil to reach the desired consistency (if needed). 🇱🇧 Aujourd’hui je vous dévoile LE SECRET d’un HUMOUS PARFAIT… et je pèse mes mots ! Tout ça en deux temps trois mouvements ! Vous n’êtes pas prêts d’en racheter au supermarché 👌🏼🇱🇧 Ingrédients : - 2 conserves de 400g de pois chiches - 1 oignon - 2 gousses d’ail - 1 cc bicarbonate de soude - 120g de tahini - le jus d’un citron - 1 cc de sel - 2 cs d’huile d’olive Vos épices préférées (paprika fumé, sumac, cumin, persil, thym) pour la déco de votre assiette. LE SECRET du HUMOUS est de cuire vos pois chiches en conserve dans l’eau avec votre oignon, bicarbonate et ail pendant AU MOINS 30 mns (1 h pour moi). C’est cette sur cuisson qui va lui conférer toute son onctuosité 🤤 Mixez ensuite le tout dans n’importe quel robot de cuisine avec le reste des ingrédients et voilà ! Il n’y a pas plus simple! Vous pouvez également ajouter un fond d’eau si la consistance vous paraît trop épaisse pour avoir un humous plus fluide 😉 Disposez le tout dans une belle assiette avec vos toppings préférés et accompagnez d’un bon pain 🤤🤤🤤 Hiver comme été, cette recette fait un carton ! That easy I don’t even measure the ingredients! All you need is: 1 can of drained chickpeas Tahini Olive oil Salt + pepper Lemon juice Cumin Homemade chilli oil for an extra kick As much water as you desire for your thickness Garlic cloves And then just blend it all until you have the texture you want! I topped mine with some more olive oil and paprika! 🌸 Pink Humous 🌸 1️⃣ Ingrédients: 1 boîte de pois chiches avec leur jus ( 400g) 2 betteraves cuites 3 cuillères à soupe de tahini 2 gousses d’ail Jus de 1 citron 4 cuillères à soupe tasse d’huile d’olive 1/2 c à c de cumin Sel et poivre au goût 2️⃣ Etapes: Cuire les pois chiches avec leur jus + 1/2 verre d’eau pendant 10-15min Épluchez les betteraves et coupez-les en morceaux. Dans un mixeur, combinez les pois chiches, leur jus, les betteraves, le tahini, l’ail, le jus de citron, l’huile d’olive, sel , poivre et cumin. Mixez jusqu’à obtention d’une consistance lisse et crémeuse. Répartissez le humous rose dans un bol. Dégustez avec du bon pain pita frais ( vous trouverez la recette du pain sur mon profil) Astuce: Ajoutez une pincée de sumac,de graines de grenade, des pignons de pin grillés pour une touche finale.
