After years of waiting, Jeanie’s retrial date has now been set - March 2, 2026.
For the first time in a long time, 2026 carries the promise of accountability.
In the first trial, the jury returned a 10-2 verdict. Two jurors held out, expressing doubt that hands could be used as weapons, questioning how force could be proven.
That reasoning is deeply concerning.
According to the Australian Institute of Criminology, assaultive force using hands &/or feet accounts for 22% of intimate partner homicides.
In the United States, 41% of child homicide victims under age 6 are killed using personal weapons such as hands, fists, or feet (OJJDP, 2020).
Macy Grace was just shy of her third birthday when she suffered fatal injuries.
Her autopsy revealed multiple impact sites to her scalp, retinal haemorrhages, & liver lacerations.
Her cause of death was complications of blunt force trauma.
The manner of death was ruled homicide.
For over a decade, justice has felt out of reach.
But this new trial date exists because people refused to stop speaking Macy’s name.
As we move into 2026, we hold hope -

• hope for accountability
• hope for safety for her little sister
Macy’s story matters.
Her life mattered.
