Craft @bhido.art - a gathering that brought together master artisans, designers, and global voices under one roof. At the heart of it all were the incredible @abdullahkhatri.sidrcraft and @jabbarkhatri, whose lifelong dedication to Bandhani continues to inspire generations.
From deep dives into history and process to conversations around innovation and challenges, the
symposium unfolded the many layers of this intricate craft. With insights from @yoshiko_wada_, @chinar_farooqui, @amishroff.shrujan, @sunitashanker, @fumie_calico, @shiorimukaitextile, @tillabyaratrikdevvarman,
@1111clothing, and many more, it became a space of learning, exchange, and immense respect for tradition.
Beautifully moderated by @studio_juhu. LLDC museum organised this symposium on the traditional textiles of kutch- Bandhani on the 23rd & 24th March which was a part of an ongoing exhibition on the master bandhani artisans of Kutch Abdullah Khatri and Abduljabbar Khatri.
A much-needed coming together to celebrate, question, and carry forward the spirit of Bandhani.
