Offering 0.2-meter-per-pixel resolution from 50 km altitude, Ocula’s multispectral imaging combines ultraviolet and visible wavelengths to map lunar terrain, identify mineral deposits like ilmenite, and monitor space weathering. Developed with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory - LLNL, the system supports mission planning, resource utilization, and situational awareness in cislunar space. Ocula will debut on the Elytra Dark spacecraft during NASA’s Blue Ghost Mission 2, then remain operational for over five years.
