All the details below 😚 I used to neglect recovery and was overdoing it with HIIT, lack of sleep, & was trying to be perfect w/ my macros. I have a very intuitive and balanced approach with tracking, and treat my recovery at the same level of importance as my workouts! If this feels overwhelming I recommend starting with just a few tips and integrating them into your routine! See how you feel & then you can pivot or add on based on your results 🫶🏼 I always recommend to “take what you want & leave what you don’t” when it comes to wellness content & tips. You know your body best :) Lifestyle decisions that have heavily attributed to lower inflammation, and helped me achieve my physique alongside my workout split and tracking macros: -I don’t drink alcohol -I prioritize my sleep -my goal is 150-160g of protein per day (custom macro plans: www.macrohabits.com) -focus on low impact workouts (my programs are 🔗 in my bio) -sauna 4 times a week for 30 min (right into a 3 min cold shower) -walk only for my cardio 🤎epsom salt I take a bath almost every night and I always throw in a ton of epsom salt & magnesium flakes. I've been training for 8+ years. I've been anorexic level skinny but I`ve also been unhealthy overweight. I know what it's like to wake up, look in the mirror and not feel healthy and proud of your current body. When we are not happy about how we look or feel, we look for easy, fast and rapid solutions to our situation. But there is a problem. In fitness there are no rapid solutions. And no coach will tell you this! Most people approach fitness as if it's some sort of chore or hassle. You constantly look for shortcuts as you continue to isolate it from your daily life. This is what we call the classical «never ending hamster wheel», where you treat your health and fitness as a seasonal hobby. Only to realize next year you're in the same shape as last year, or even worse you are feeling even more sluggish, unhealthy and unathletic as ever before.. The most valuable lesson I've learnt throughout my journey is to make fitness a lifestyle. Went to @wearebod this morning to check my body composition after this summers debauchery and the results were… disappointing, but not unexpected 😅 I love having solid data to base decisions off of, and the scale doesn’t always tell me everything I need to know. My weight stayed the same, but I lost lean mass and gained body fat. These numbers don’t indicate anything about me as a person. We’re more than our body fat percentage, weight, lean, and fat mass. But with that said… knowing how what I’ve been doing has been affecting me has definitely lit a fire under me. I’m more motivated than ever to do better! Less skipped gym sessions, more protein and creatine, and signs of improvement at my next DEXA scan are the goals 💪 If you’re in the LA area, definitely recommend checking out @wearebod to do your own scan!
