MU2️⃣0️⃣ YEARS ago … On this day (Feb 5) 2006, the Rolling Stones played three songs during the half-time show of The Super Bowl in Detroit. After the event, the Stones expressed their displeasure over having Mick Jagger’s microphone turned down during the song “Start Me Up”. The line “you make a dead man come” was cut short and a barnyard reference to “cocks” in the new song “Rough Justice” also disappeared.

MUSombr brought out Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins during his Saturday sunset set at the Outdoor Theatre. It was Corgan’s first-ever appearance at Coachella.
The two performed the Pumpkins’ 1995 classic “1979”, with Corgan on vocals and guitar.
Right as Corgan stepped up to sing, his mic didn’t work — leaving him appearing to mime his own song while Sombr jumped in to cover the vocals until a working mic arrived for the chorus. Corgan later laughed it off, calling the night “rock and roll under the desert sky” in his post.

MU“Joy to the World” was written by Hoyt Axton and made famous by the rock band Three Dog Night. The song is also popularly known by its opening lyric, ‘Jeremiah was a bullfrog’ which was never meant to be a lyric. Hoyt wrote it as a placeholder for a cartoon that never aired. He scribbled ‘Jeremiah was a bullfrog’ as a joke, planning to fix it later, but Three Dog Night recorded it before he could.
The band didn’t even like the song until Chuck Negron pushed for it. Then a Seattle DJ accidentally spun it on air and suddenly it became the no. 1 song of 1971.
