My medical school debt is a cruel joke played by the universe. --------------------------------------- ➡️ Explanation: ---------------- This meme perfectly encapsulates the frustrating reality of medical education and the financial burden it places on doctors. Years of intense study, residency, and training – often exceeding 10 years – culminate in a profession that frequently doesn’t align with the compensation. The exorbitant cost of medical education (often exceeding $300,000 or more) leads to massive student loan debt, and the meme highlights the feeling of being utterly defeated by a hefty bill, despite all the effort invested. It’s a darkly humorous commentary on the healthcare system and the sacrifices made by medical professionals. --------------------------------------- #medicine #healthcare #medicalschool #debt #studentloans doctor medical education funny explorepage

how could you? I will continue to shout my story from the rooftops in the hope this will never happen again. iv needles are single use only, once they exit the skin they DO NOT re enter! The chances of an infection and nerve damage this severe happening are low, but there is still a chance which is why medical professionals are trained not to reuse them. It still happens EVERY day, when it shouldn’t be- it’s negligent and lazy. Speak up if this ever happens when you get your bloods done, request a new needle as that’s how it should be done. #truestory #iv #hospital #doctor #chronicillness #howcouldyou

A strange and controversial trend has reportedly emerged among some young people in China, where individuals place a plastic bag loosely over their mouth while eating. The idea behind this practice is linked to fear of obesity and body image pressure. Many participants believe that limiting airflow or making eating slightly uncomfortable will reduce how much they consume, helping them feel full faster and avoid overeating. The trend appears to be driven largely by social media, where extreme dieting methods often go viral. In recent years, intense beauty standards and slim body ideals have placed increasing pressure on young people to maintain a certain appearance. Online influencers and short-video platforms have played a major role in spreading unconventional and sometimes unsafe weight-control hacks. Health experts, however, warn that this method can be dangerous. Covering the mouth with plastic while eating may pose risks such as breathing difficulties, choking hazards, or even accidental suffocation. Medical professionals emphasize that there is no scientific evidence supporting this approach as an effective or safe weight-loss strategy. Instead, they recommend balanced nutrition, portion control, and regular physical activity as healthier alternatives. FAIR USE: Copyright disclaimer under section 107 of the copyright act 1976. This was done to help a previous client, and the service was provided completely free to her. She has other health considerations, and this option made the process more comfortable for her. Everything was voluntary, fully consented to, and done inside a licensed medical facility with a trained medical team. I did not administer anesthesia - that was handled entirely by medical professionals, with proper medical clearance and monitoring. The Twight Sedation service itself was a short, one-hour treatment, unlike procedures that can last for several hours. And yes — this service is permitted under the North Carolina Cosmetology Board, and everything was done legally, ethically, and with the client’s wellbeing as the priority. mattedhair #demattinghair #tonehairsalon #sedateddematting #tangledhair

In May 2025, my Husband had his ACL surgery, and I kept a video diary of his recovery journey, as we knew it would be a long one (approx 9-12m). In his particular case, it was 90% torn so it needed a full reconstruction. We are now 8 months post surgery and can say that he is coming out of the other side. He is now playing golf, cycling, lifting weights, and starting padel (lightly). Looking back, I still can’t believe how far he has come. It has not been easy, there have been many ups and downs, but we just hope this video can help someone going through something similar. Before the surgery, my husband would research other people’s stories, as he was just desperate to know when he would be back to being mobile and playing sports! 🤣 And recently, it just seems like so many people are having ACL surgeries, so I just hope this can give someone a little bit of reassurance and motivation…. You have got this! *we are not medical professionals, this is a personal recovery journey* Please feel free to share with loved ones. * *trigger warning* #ACLrecovery ACL aclsurgery aclinjury aclreconstruction

You can’t make this up… The Tennessee healthcare system has failed me. I thought I wasn’t going to make it to the morning. But thankfully, after I fell on the hard asphalt, I was able to dial 911 on my phone. They took me to a different hospital where they discovered I had literally exhausted my body to the point where I couldn’t even walk anymore. I took this video because this seems like a story that is just too unbelievable. I can’t even believe it happened! In fact- I wish it didn’t happen and it was all just one big nightmare… but it did really happen, because bruises from the fall decorate my arms and legs. Even the nurses were confused when the doctor came in, took me off the vent, and handed me discharge papers. My goal is to avoid hospitals at ALL COST. I’m more than disappointed in the healthcare system, and I plan on pursuing a career of public speaking to help our medical professionals understand chronic illnesses and autism more. Believe it or not- this really did happen. Thankfully I’m back home and working on recovering from this awful day. • • • #irenestandsfirm • • • #chronicillness #chronicallyill #chronicillnesswarrior #chronicillnessawareness #myastheniagravis #autism #healthcare #hospital #ehlersdanlossyndrome #dysautonomia #instagram #reels #reelsofinstagram #fyp #explore

Woman, 23, reveals symptoms doctors dismissed before entire body broke out in horrific rash. Lily Thompstone, a content creator from Bury, had spent years suffering from debilitating gut issues and severe sickness after meals. Despite her constant discomfort, she claims medical professionals repeatedly brushed her off, attributing her symptoms to simple Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). However, her body reached a breaking point when she suddenly woke up with "humongous" swollen lips, followed by a mysterious rash that began on her chest and rapidly engulfed nearly her entire body. The rash was so severe it left Lily covered in hundreds of painful, scaly spots from her neck down to her toes, affecting 90% of her skin. "I knew something was wrong with my body," Lily explained, but she was met with further frustration as different GPs suggested it was merely light sensitivity or psoriasis. It was only after a persistent year-long battle for answers that the 23-year-old was finally diagnosed with endometriosis—a condition doctors discovered was present "all over" her body. Lily now believes the horrific rash was her immune system’s desperate "SOS signal" after years of chronic physical stress and undiagnosed pain. Since undergoing surgery to treat the endometriosis, her skin has finally begun to clear. Now, she is sharing her story with millions to urge other women to trust their intuition and advocate for their health when they feel their symptoms are being overlooked by the system.

TW‼️⚠️ just as I was beginning to trust medical professionals again, this happens 😔 Feel like I’m living in a nightmare currently, my chest hurts so much from the mechanical ventilation, I am afraid to go to sleep incase I stop breathing, my body is incredibly weak, my left hand CRPS has flared up as they stupidly tried to cannulate it, hospitals are even more traumatic than they were before, my family are in pieces, and now I’m so worried that it’s all ruined my plans for the coming weeks. I was told that this ‘simple’ procedure would make my life easier 💔❤️‍🩹😔 Medical trauma is so awful ❤️‍🩹 any medical professionals reading this, please please please take allergies seriously and check medical notes before administering medication ❤️‍🩹 #chronicillness #allergies #update
