DAJust before 4am this morning, we passed a balanced $12.9 Billion dollar budget on your behalf. In past years, passing the budget was a celebratory occasion but this year it was sighs of relief.
With months of chaos and confusion, what’s become painfully clear is that, in anticipation of what’s to come next year, we must do things differently and that process of sweeping budgetary reform in Miami Dade County must commence immediately.

MAOver four years since the Surfside building collapsed- which killed 98 eight people. The land was sold and a new development by @damacofficial is underway on the collapsed site with a continuously delayed federal investigation by @nist
The Town of Surfside designated 88th Street as the memorial (next to the collapse site). We are still waiting to break ground. We ask the Town of Surfside, Miami Dade County, and the State of Florida to stop constantly delaying this process.
We will not wait for the developer to finish. Respect the lives lost. Build the memorial now.

TH#BREAKING: #YMWMelly’s co-defendant #YNWBortlen has accepted a plea deal that prevents him from facing multiple life sentences. He will now be sentenced to 10 years in prison with time served and 6 years of probation. He also must sign a sworn statement about his role in the shooting deaths of Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Williams and Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas. Although he’s not required to testify against Melly, he will have to answer questions about the case truthfully if he’s called as a witness during Melly’s second murder trial in 2027. Levine Cava, who had previously expressed concerns about the facility’s impact on the environment and human rights, called the decision a “victory for home rule and human dignity” in a statement posted on X.

For seventy five years, this hospital has stood as South Florida’s only freestanding pediatric hospital dedicated only to children. It has grown with our community and led the way with strong physicians, innovative programs, and a clear promise to give every child the best chance at health.
It was an honor to present a proclamation celebrating this milestone. I want to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff who bring comfort to parents and hope to children every single day. You are a blessing to our families, and our community is stronger because of your service.
Here is to seventy five years of healing, compassion, and care. And here is to many more years of standing by our children and their future.
