THChina Tests ‘Flying Car’ Concept as XPENG’s Modular Aircraft System Takes Flight.
China showcased XPENG AEROHT’s “Land Aircraft Carrier,” a modular system where a ground vehicle carries a detachable electric aircraft. Instead of the car itself flying, the air module separates after parking and takes off independently, marking a different approach to urban air mobility.
The all-electric aircraft is designed for short-range travel and can reach speeds of up to 360 km/h. The demonstration highlights China’s push toward next-generation transport, though the concept differs from the idea of a fully integrated flying car.
