So, what do YOU think? 🤔 Did the interviewer successfully shift or at least loosen the author’s belief? — Mind you, these were ideas this author has published in his book, “Reparations: The Tyranny of Imaginary Guilt” so given that, I think it’s a fair assumption to say, this belief was likely deeply held, so to see him move his language at all is very interesting. Follow @heyjencasey for more subconscious education. 🎥 The video clip features: Mehdi Hasan @mehdirhasan is a British-American broadcaster, journalist, and founder of the media company Zeteo. Nigel John Biggar, is a British Anglican priest, theologian, ethicist, and Professor of Moral and Pastoral Theology at the University of Oxford. Are you facilitating the session your client actually needs? Just like growth in nature, transformation requires the right kind of nourishment at the right time. Sometimes the system needs regulation. Sometimes it’s ready for deep reprogramming. Sometimes it’s time to receive and integrate what’s already shifted. The skill of a world-class coach *starts* in knowing what kind of session the moment is calling for. That is why I created a free guide to help you build that discernment.🌹 Want to get a free copy of: The 3 Coaching Session Types Behind World-Class Client Transformations Guidebook? One of the most polished social skills you can develop is realizing that not every question requires a direct answer. That does not mean being argumentative or unkind. It means understanding that you are allowed to guide the conversation. One of the most seamless ways to do this is to answer a DIFFERENT question. You can hold a boundary without shouting from the rooftop that you are doing so. And the conversation and rapport can remain unbroken (if that is what you wish, if for example, the person you are talking with is your boss, a client, or an in-law with whom you really want to keep the peace). Here is what it looks like in practice: “Are you renting or buying?” “Oh yes, we LOVE our new place. We’re still figuring out the décor though. Tell me, how did you go about putting everything together? Your home is so beautiful.” You acknowledge the topic. You share something warm and non-revealing. Then you pivot to a question they will enjoy answering. If you’re not sure how to get them talking, a hint of (genuine) flattery + a direct question usually primes the pump. “Have you lost weight?” “Life has been so busy lately. I’m really trying to enjoy it all while steadily focusing on my routines. You’re always so good at that, what’s your secret to keeping everything in balance?” “Are you thinking about having another baby?” “Life has been so full since this little one came along. So many highs, but so many trying moments too. You always seem so calm with your kids. What helped you most when they were little?” This is not avoidance. This is social intelligence. You are responding to the moment, not surrendering the details of your life. Good etiquette is knowing how to keep a conversation warm without giving it unrestricted access. And when you redirect with genuine interest, most people will happily follow your lead. #boundarysetting #etiquette #conversationskills #neurolinguisticprogramming #lifeadvice #emotionalintelligence

Trauma is required? I don’t think so. This is a classic example of well intended coaches like @kerwinrae who are trying to a good thing, but end up spreading more trauma bypassing. Let’s elevate the coaching space to being trauma-informed and stop telling people trauma is a requirement. There is a lot to unpack in this one, so I’ll be doing another reel on this later this week. #traumacoach #lifecoach #lifecoachingtips #traumainformed #trauma #traumahealing #traumarecovery #tonyrobbins #traumaresponse #traumatology #somatichealing #selfregulation #nlppractitioner #nlpcoachi̇ng #nlpcoach #nlptraining #neurolinguisticprogramming
