I am about to sit my numeracy test on Wednesday (I took literacy last year and then got so sick I couldn’t go back into the test centre a couple days later when I was meant to!) so I thought I’d share my opinion! THERE IS TOO MUCH FEAR AROUND LANTITE! Because you can’t talk about the test, you hear top 30% and automatically think 70% of you will fail, this is not the case. I honestly don’t even recommend using old naplan tests because I think its just more stuff to retain which creates more stress and it didn’t help me at all (obviously everyone is different so if it did help you I mean no offense!). I just did the LANTITE practice test and retired questions and I feel like that was sufficient! Did you know that when kids are exposed to more information, especially during play, they are more likely to retain the information. Adding in simple concepts such as literacy or numeracy, talking about what you see, getting the kids to act it out, telling you what they think it is, it helps their fundamental early education. We made a messy carrot patch using cooked tapioca pearls as our base. It was so simple and so much fun.
