Like many people, I had to brace myself before watching the Oprah interview in 2021 fully expecting Meghan to spray gun a multitude of falsehoods and she didn’t disappoint.
In my opinion, of all the outrageous claims she made, many of which support the pathological nature of her narcissism it was this particular moment that stood out.
Meghan recalls being shocked that she was expected to curtsy to the Queen and performs a mocking reenactment of her reaction, the arrogance is staggering.
The Queen wasn’t just someone’s grandmother, she was Queen Elizabeth II, a woman who dedicated her entire life to public service and who deserved global respect.
Meghan wasn’t being asked to perform some outdated ritual, she was being offered the rare privilege of standing before a sovereign.
Her dismissiveness is not only tone deaf, it’s narcissistic to its core.
This wasn’t about confusion or cultural naivety that she tried to lead us to believe, it was a display of self importance and delusion.
A subtle but telling glimpse into a personality that saw Queen Elizabeth as a threat to her own spotlight.
When people show you who they are early on, believe them.
