✝️പെസഹാ അപ്പവും പാലും/ ഇൻഡ്രിയപ്പം - Pesaha Appam & Paal🤍
✨On Maundy Thursday (Pesaha Vyazham), we remember the night Jesus shared His Last Supper with His disciples.
He broke the bread and said it was His body, and shared the wine as His blood, a symbol of the Holy Eucharist. He also humbled Himself by washing the disciples’ feet, teaching love, service, and forgiveness.
In Kerala Syrian Christian homes, this sacred day is observed by preparing Pesaha Appam and Pesaha Paal, inspired by the Passover meal, and sharing it together as a blessed remembrance of that holy night.✨🕊️
Ingredients
• Raw Rice - 1 cup
• Black gram - 1/8 cup
• Coconut - 1/2 cup
• Shallots - 2 or 3
• Garlic - 1 or 2
• Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
• Salt - 1/4 tsp
• Water
• Coconut Milk - 1/4 cup
• Second Milk of coconut - 1 cup
• Jaggery powder - 1/2 cup
• Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
• Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
• Dry ginger powder - 1/4 tsp
• Rice flour - 1 tbsp
• Salt a pinch

BAPesaha Appam symbolizes the unleavened bread eaten by the Israelites in haste during their journey of liberation from Egypt.
Likewise, the word “Pesaha” means “Passover” or “passing over.”
It also reminds us of the Last Supper — the final meal that Jesus Christ shared with His disciples before His crucifixion. ✨
On Pesaha Thursday night, family members gather together to share Pesaha Appam and Pesaha Paal, making it a sacred family tradition. 🤍
The eldest member of the family leads the prayer,
breaks the bread marked with the sign of the cross,
dips it in the Pesaha Paal,

പെസഹാ അപ്പം യിസ്രായേലർ ഈജിപ്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള വിമോചനയാത്രയിൽ അടിയന്തിരമായി കഴിച്ച പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പത്തെ ഓർമ്മിപ്പിക്കുന്നതാണ്.
