VIEW YELLOW-BLUE CONTRAST “LOW SOLAR ANGLE” SUNLIGHT• - Getting sufficient amounts of quality sleep, exercise, and proper nutrition are the foundations of mental health, physical health and performance. Viewing morning sunlight is right up there with those foundational practices in terms of positive impact on all the organ systems of the body and brain. - As I explain in this video, the yellow-blue contrast present in low-solar-angle sunlight is the optimal stimulus for your circadian system, which leads to improved wakefulness and focus during the day and improved sleep at night, as well as having positive indirect effects on metabolism, etc. On cloudy days you won’t be able to see the sun, but the photon energy still makes it through the clouds; you just need to be outside longer. I describe the protocol in the video and below. - On bright cloudless days: view morning and afternoon sun for ~10 min; on cloudy days: ~20 min; on very overcast days ~30-60 min. It is especially important to view sunlight through the clouds on cloudy days. This is essential. - If you live someplace with minimal light, consider an artificial daytime simulator source.
