If probiotics are taken at the same time, many of those good bacteria are destroyed before they can provide any benefit. Fiber feeds gut bacteria and increases fermentation in the digestive system. When your microbiome is already disrupted by antibiotics, adding fiber can cause bloating, gas, cramps, or diarrhea. It’s better to space probiotics away from antibiotics and slowly reintroduce fiber afterward to support proper gut recovery.
