¿Sabes cómo se comunican un PLC y un HMI cuando trabajan mediante PROFIBUS? PROFIBUS es una de las redes industriales más usadas para conectar equipos de campo, y cuando la usas entre un PLC y un HMI, la clave está en configurar bien cada dispositivo en el mismo bus. El PLC actúa como maestro o coordinador, mientras el HMI se registra como un nodo con su propia dirección. A través del archivo GSD, ambos equipos intercambian datos: el HMI lee estados, niveles o alarmas desde el PLC, y también envía comandos como arranques, paros o cambios de setpoint. Cuando la configuración es correcta, la comunicación es estable, rápida y segura, permitiendo que el operador tenga una visión clara de todo el proceso sin interrupciones. PROFIBUS puede parecer antiguo frente a PROFINET, pero sigue siendo una red muy confiable en miles de plantas industriales.
