THThe last public speech of Prophet Muhammad was delivered during his final pilgrimage in the year 10 AH at Arafat on the ninth day of Dhu al Hijjah. This sermon is authentically reported in multiple sound narrations and is known as the Farewell Sermon.
In this address he declared the sanctity of human life property and honor. He abolished pre Islamic practices of usury and blood revenge beginning with cases from his own family. He emphasized good treatment of women and clarified mutual marital rights. He taught that all humans are equal regardless of race or ethnicity and that superiority is only through righteousness. He instructed Muslims to hold firmly to the Quran and his Sunnah and asked those present to convey his message to others. He concluded by asking the people to testify that he had delivered the message and invoked God as witness.
Soon after this sermon the Quranic verse announcing the completion of the religion was revealed which scholars understand as confirmation that this was his final comprehensive public address.
Authentic references include Sahih al Bukhari in the Book of Hajj Sahih Muslim in the Book of Hajj Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal and Sunan al Tirmidhi all of which contain sound narrations of this sermon.

Teaching children the “Who is your Lord?” and “Who is your Prophet?” questions is not just about memorization; it is about planting the seeds of Tawhid in their hearts
“O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones...” (Surah At-Tahrim, 66:6)
When we teach a child these truths, we are creating a ongoing charity for ourselves
The Messenger of Allah said:
“When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: A continuous charity, knowledge by which people benefit, or a pious son (or daughter) who prays for him.” (Sahih Muslim)

MAKhadijah R.A. was a noble, intelligent, and wealthy businesswoman, and the first wife of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. She was widely respected for her character and integrity. Despite living in a society where women had little power, she ran a successful trading business.
After Prophet Muhammad ﷺ received his first revelation from Angel Jibreel, he returned to Khadijah R.A. and she immediately believed him, making her the first person to accept Islam. She remained by his side through every trial, offering her wealth in support of the early Muslim community and endured the harsh boycott placed on the Prophet’s ﷺ family.
She is known as “The Pure One” (At-Tahira), and was a woman of strength, wisdom, devotion, and love.
The Prophet ﷺ once said:
“She believed in me when people disbelieved in me, she confirmed my words when people rejected me, and she supported me with her wealth when people deprived me.”

A Pakistani cleaner in Makkah was humbly praying and making Duaa to Allah for sustenance due to accumulated debts in his home country.
A video of him went viral, prompting a benefactor in the land of the Two Holy Mosques to contact him. Upon learning of his situation, the benefactor decided to pay off all his debts.
When asked about his prayer, he replied that he was reciting the supplication for sustenance that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used when a guest arrived. The Prophet sent word to his wives asking for food, but they replied that they had nothing. He then said, “O Allah , I ask You for Your bounty and mercy, for none possesses them but You.” Moments later, a roasted sheep was presented to the Prophet (peace be upon him).

CHToday during tawaf in the Mataaf, my children asked:
“Mama, why is the Kaaba black?
Does Allah like black colour?
Why doesn’t Allah like blue?
I like yellow… does Allah like yellow?
Is black Allah’s favourite colour?”
Before I could answer, they had already reached their own conclusion:
“If Allah likes black, then tomorrow we should wear black too… then Allah will love us more.”
And I realised — this was not really a question about colour.
They were trying to understand Allah.
So I explained to them gently:
The Kaaba was first built by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son Ismail (AS), as Allah tells us in the Qur’an:
“And when Ibrahim and Ismail raised the foundations of the House [they prayed], ‘Our Lord, accept this from us…’”
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:127)
In the beginning, it was simply a structure of stone — without covering or decoration — built only as a place for the worship of Allah.
Over many years, the building was repaired and rebuilt whenever it was damaged. During the time of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the people of Makkah rebuilt the Kaaba again, preserving its sacred structure.
The covering we see today came later. Across history, people honoured the Kaaba by covering it in different ways, until it became the black covering we recognise now.
The colour changed over time.
The purpose never changed.
And I reminded them:
We do not worship the Kaaba.
The Kaaba is a centre point — a direction that unites millions of Muslims toward one Allah.
It gathers hearts in one direction, while worship belongs only to Him.
As we continued our tawaf, their questions slowly softened into quiet observation — small minds trying to understand something much bigger than themselves.
And perhaps this is how faith begins for children:
not through explanations alone, but through questions that slowly lead them closer to understanding.

The Kaaba, situated in the Sacred Mosque of Makkah, is the holiest site in Islam and the spiritual heart of the Muslim world. According to Islamic tradition, it was originally established by Prophet Adam (AS) and later rebuilt by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son Prophet Ismail (AS) by the command of Allah as a house dedicated solely to monotheistic worship. For centuries, it remained a symbol of devotion to one God, though idol worship later entered the region.
With the advent of Islam, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ restored the Kaaba to its original purpose by removing idols and reaffirming it as the center of pure worship. The Kaaba was designated as the Qiblah, the direction toward which Muslims face during their daily prayers, symbolizing unity and equality among believers. Covered with the black Kiswah and housing the sacred Black Stone (Hajr al-Aswad), the Kaaba has undergone several reconstructions due to natural events while preserving its sanctity.
