Applications close tomorrow night! This is your last chance to back your idea with $1K - no strings, no suits, no pitch deck required. You don’t need it all figured out. You just need the spark. The energy. The guts to hit apply. For the zines, the side projects, the late-night voice notes. For the stuff that won’t leave you alone. Protostars applications close TOMORROW. Don’t sleep on this. 🔗 Link in bio to apply #Protostars #BlackbirdFoundation

SUPERNOVA - The cataclysmic death of a massive star, releasing more energy in seconds than the Sun will emit in its entire lifetime. Shockwaves race outward, compressing and heating interstellar gas, forging heavy elements, and seeding future star systems. Explanation 👇 . . . Right now, the Andromeda Galaxy is racing toward us at 250,000 mph. In about 4 billion years, it will slam into our Milky Way, creating a spectacular light show of new star formation. But here’s the mind-blowing part: because stars are so far apart, they’ll basically pass through each other like ghosts. The two will eventually merge into one giant galaxy called Milkomeda. #galaxy #space #universe #knowledge #viral

The Hubble Telescope recently took a peek at a particular pair of protostellar binaries ⭐️⭐️ forming in a nebula. These two stars are very young and in one of the earliest phases of stellar evolution. They continue to grow by accreting, or gathering, nearby material. The protostars give off strong ionizing radiation and have powerful stellar winds. Excited hydrogen in the nebula emits light. The stars are actively carving their place in the molecular cloud and, eventually, their formation will disperse the remaining gas, which will go on to form new clouds and stars elsewhere in the galaxy. Using the Wide Field Camera 3 on Hubble in infrared wavelengths, we can slice through much of the cloud’s gas and dust to study the inner workings of star formation. We often think of JWST when we hear infrared light, but Hubble can actually observe in a very small portion of the infrared spectrum, too! 📸: ESA/Hubble & NASA, J. Tan, R. The Sombrero Galaxy, also known as Messier 104 (M104) or NGC 4594, lies about 31 million light‑years away in the constellation Virgo. It is a spiral galaxy seen nearly edge‑on, giving it the appearance of a sombrero hat, with a brilliant central bulge encircled by a dark, thick dust lane. This dust lane is rich in gas and hydrogen, serving as a site of active star formation. The galaxy is immense, spanning about 94,000–105,000 light‑years in diameter, making it comparable in size to the Milky Way. #earth #space #physics #science #mars #universe #explorepage #explore #viralreels #viral #astrophysics #cosmology #cosmos #spacefacts #SpaceScience #stars #solarsystem #exoplanet #galaxy

🌌 *The Cosmic Dark* - Ever gazed at the night sky and spotted a 'black' area between stars? These dark patches are often nebulae or cosmic dust clouds blocking starlight, creating mysterious voids in space 😮 🔭 *Cosmic Shadows* - Regions like the Boötes void or dark nebulae are where stars aren't visible due to gas and dust. These areas, though dark, hold clues to star formation and the universe's structure #Space #Astronomy ✨ *Secrets in the Dark* - Want to explore more cosmic mysteries? #SpaceScience #Nebula #interstellar

Neil deGrasse Tyson reveals one of the most beautiful truths in science — that the universe is within us. The carbon in our muscles, the iron in our blood, the calcium in our bones — all forged in the fiery hearts of ancient stars billions of years ago. When those stars exploded, they scattered the ingredients of life across the galaxy. So when we look up at the night sky, we are not separate from the universe… we are part of it. Follow (US) @quasar_questt for more You share your exact age with a star burning somewhere in the universe. The day you were born, you weren’t the only thing that came into existence. Across the observable universe, stars are constantly forming inside vast clouds of gas and dust called nebulae. When gravity pulls that material together, pressure rises, temperatures soar, and nuclear fusion ignites. A new star is born. In a universe with trillions of galaxies and more stars than grains of sand on Earth, thousands of stars are born every second. Statistically, at the exact moment you took your first breath, multiple stars likely ignited somewhere far beyond our galaxy. Right now, one of them is the exact same age as you. It has been burning for every second you’ve been alive. If ideas like this make you see the universe differently, follow me. ✨💫Protostar L1527 is a young stellar object located in the constellation Taurus, approximately 450 light-years from Earth. It is one of the most well-studied protostars because it provides critical insight into the early stages of star formation, particularly resembling what our own Sun may have looked like in its infancy. Key Features of Protostar L1527: ✅ Class 0 Protostar L1527 is categorized as a Class 0 protostar, meaning it is in the very earliest observable stage of stellar evolution. At this stage, most of its mass is still contained in the surrounding envelope of gas and dust. ✅ Protoplanetary Disk L1527 is surrounded by a dense, rotating disk of gas and dust, often called a protoplanetary disk. This disk is where planets, asteroids, and other bodies could eventually form. The disk around L1527 is viewed almost edge-on from Earth, making it easier for astronomers to study its structure. ✅ Bipolar Outflows Observations show powerful jets or bipolar outflows being ejected from L1527’s poles. These outflows help clear away excess material, allowing the protostar to emerge and continue its formation. ✅ Observed by ALMA & JWST The Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) and the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) have provided high-resolution images of L1527. JWST's infrared observations have revealed remarkable details of its disk, envelope, and outflows, offering new insights into star and planet formation. Why L1527 is Important: Studying L1527 allows astronomers to: • Understand the earliest stages of star birth • Observe conditions that lead to planet formation • Gain clues about the formation of solar systems like ours It represents a cosmic "baby picture" of what the Sun might have looked like 4.6 billion years ago.🌌🌟💥🌞☀️🌍 #astronomy #astrophotography #universe #space #galaxy #visualart #solarsystem #fyp #foryou #edits #blackhole #spacetimewarp #blackholegravity #einsteinrelativity #cosmicmysteries #gravitydefying #gravitydemo #eventhorizon #viralreels #viralvideos #animation #spaceanimation #supernova #supernovae #demonstration #science #physics #electron #light #lightyear
