8 things you NEED to know when visiting Rome ⬇️⬇️

1. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and you shouldn’t try to see it in one either: plan atleast 3 days in the city
2. Don’t sit or eat on the Spanish Steps or any ancient ruins, there is a hefty fine!
3. Real carbonara has no cream, garlic or onions: it has only eggs, pecorino, guanciale (pork cheek), and black pepper. Anything else is fake!
4. An espresso in Rome is about the same price as a bottle of water: so when in doubt, get a coffee!
5. The best sunset spot isn’t Piazza Venezia or the Colosseum: go to Terrazza del Gianicolo for breathtaking views
6. Skip gelato that’s too colorful and piled high: the best places use natural ingredients and store in metal tins (try Gelateria del Teatro)
7. Some of the best art isn’t in a museum: you can see Caravaggio paintings for free inside San Luigi dei Francesi church
8. Don’t ask for “pepperoni” on your pizza: it sounds similar to the Italian word for bell peppers! If you want something similar, ask for “salame piccante”
