Fact is after over 4 years traveling full time we’ve settled into a rhythm. We no longer push ourselves to be busy every day. It’s too easy to get burned out.
Instead now we look forward to weekends where we just relax. It’s actually helped us our sanity.😂
A few tips if you’re considering full time RV life.
1️⃣Don’t rush your stays. If you’re headed to the Grand Canyon for instance… That’s a big NP so it’s a good idea to plan at least a week in the area. This will allow you time to visit multiple days and days to rest. We stayed 2 weeks and I wish we had stayed longer. Plus, the longer you stay you won’t have to worry about the weather keeping you away from adventures.
2️⃣Plan ahead. Some NP’s require timed entry reservations or a specific hike might have a lottery. So be aware that you will need to purchase these as soon as they are available. If you’re camping inside the parks this will count as your timed entry reservation.
3️⃣Be flexible. This is SO important. If you don’t handle it well when things don’t work out the way you planned then RV life might not be for you. You have to learn to roll with the punches in this life. Because things will break, weather is unpredictable and our bodies get sick. And if you work from the road that’s another obstacle that could put a wrench in your plans.
4️⃣Have FUN! Get out there! Don’t just sit in your RV. Walk the campground, meet fellow RV’ers, get involved in activities and try new things. It will make this lifestyle way more enjoyable and exciting.
