This is the Bellus Angel. This particular one is a female! The males have a more yellow color scheme to them. Personally I think the female one looks cooler!
Now there are 2 things that make this such a prized fish in the aquarium hobby. The first is that it is a rare fish in general. These are a pretty hard fish for us to get a hold of and we are lucky if we get to see 5 of them a year.
The second thing is that they are one of the few reef safe angelfish. Angels in the Genus genicanthus are mostly all considered to be reef safe. This is because they are collected from deeper waters where they are mostly feasting on plankton.
For diet on these guys you should feed the lots of mysis shrimp and ocean plankton. Just like any other angel, you’re going to want to make sure that you feed them lots of Algae as well.
In general these are pretty peaceful fish that will do well in the reef aquarium!
