Blood is 🔹water soluble🔹 which means you can wash the pads with your other laundry without soiling them. If you don't feel comfortable doing so, and have a top loading washing machine, throw in a few towels for better "agitation". Always use a cool/cold cycle. Heat sets protein stains. We personally don't mind the stains, it's the "nature" of the product, but if you do- regular salt is a perfect and cheap way of binding the protein (pulling out blood) and keeping your pads stain free and CLEAN. You can add it to your bucket soak (before you wash your pads) or directly in your wash along with your preferred detergent. If you've been putting off getting cloth pads because you're not sure how to care for them, let this be the post and sign you need to help you switch over. Say goodbye to toxic disposables and- or toxic synthetic (fleece/polyester) cloth pads. They're not good for you. You deserve better. Any questions regarding pad care etc?
