CHSHSAT Success — Here’s How We Did It! 🎉
Helping Hailee prepare for the SHSAT (Specialized High Schools Admissions Test) was a ton of hard work, strategy, and lots of support — and it paid off! She earned a spot at one of NYC’s specialized high schools, and we are so proud of her.
For any parents starting this process, I know how overwhelming it can feel, so I want to share what worked for us:
✅ NYC Department of Education (DOE) SHSAT Page: Provides test registration info, official handbooks, and sample tests.
✅ Start Early: Give your child time to get familiar with the test format. Use practice tests to build confidence and track progress.
✅ SHSAT Practice Books: purchase the latest SHSAT practice books and work through them all.
✅ Tutoring: Book tutoring sessions to help cover areas your child may struggle with.
✅ Stay Positive: Encourage your child every step of the way — mindset matters!
