AKWelcome to the daily pack rip! Today we opened a pack of Simplified Chinese Scorching Skies (CS3.5C) which is the Asian equivalent of the English Chilling Reign set. If you are chasing the legendary Alternate Art Galarian Birds or the Blaziken VMAX, this is the set you want to be ripping!
Let’s geek out over today’s pulls and the incredible artists behind them:
🗡️ Doublade: This card was illustrated by the legendary Miki Tanaka. She has been drawing for Pokémon since the Fossil set in 1999! Her quirky, storybook-style art is iconic.
🐝 Beedrill (Holo): Notice the red banner? That is the Single Strike mechanic, meaning this Pokémon is built for one massive, knockout punch.
🌿 Celebi & Castform (Rainy Form): Beautiful, vibrant environmental art that makes the Chinese characters on the card pop.
💧 MY FAVORITE CARD OF THE DAY: The “Shiny” Drizzile!
This isn’t just a regular foil. In Simplified Chinese sets, “Reverse Holo” cards feature a gorgeous, unique foil pattern stamped with the Pokémon’s energy type check out those water droplets shining across the bottom! 🌊 It also has the blue Rapid Strike banner, which is a mechanic based on fluid, technical, and combo-based attacks.
