For the third year in a row, St. Nicholas Primary School has made recycling a part of their sports week—and this year, they didn’t just improve… they tripled their impact. Bottles poured in from students, parents, and the wider community, turning a school activity into something far greater than a competition. And it makes you pause and ask: what if every school across Antigua and Barbuda did the same? What if sports week wasn’t just about races and relays, but also about responsibility? What if every house team competed not just for points—but for the planet? What if recycling became as natural as cheering on your team? The magnitude of bottles, cans, and glass we could divert from the landfill would be unbelievable. The videos and photos from St. Nicholas Primary School are more than highlights—they are proof. Proof that change is possible. Proof that communities will show up. Proof that young people, when given the opportunity, will lead. And for us, it’s emotional. Because just three years ago, this journey started at All Saints Secondary School—with four bins and nothing more than a vision. No roadmap. No guarantees. Just belief. Today, we are standing in rooms filled with bottles—not as waste, but as evidence. Evidence of commitment. Evidence of growth. Evidence that a small start can lead to national impact. This is what hope looks like. This is what joy feels like. And yes—this is what brings tears. Because it’s no longer just our vision. It belongs to the schools. It belongs to the students. It belongs to Antigua and Barbuda. And this? This is only the beginning. ♻️
