🚨ALERT: S4 SEVERE SOLAR RADIATION STORM – STRONGEST IN 20 YEARS NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center has confirmed an S4 Severe solar radiation storm in progress on January 19, 2026. Their bulletin says radiation levels measured by GOES satellites have climbed into the Severe category on the NOAA scale and that this is the largest solar radiation storm since the October 2003 “Halloween” event. On top of that, the impact of a coronal mass ejection has pushed Earth into a G4 Severe geomagnetic storm, powerful enough to disturb GPS, HF radio and high latitude power systems. This storm was triggered by multiple X class solar flares from a hyperactive sunspot, which launched a strong CME straight toward us. Now that it has arrived, the sky is responding. Auroras (northern lights) are already being reported far from the usual polar zones and NOAA’s forecasts show potential visibility as far south as parts of the United States, Europe and maybe even closer to the tropics if the field orientation stays favorable. This level of storm does not automatically “collapse GPS and the power grid,” but it absolutely can degrade navigation, cause radio blackouts at high latitudes and make life difficult for satellite operators and grid controllers. I am following NOAA SWPC, space weather dashboards and real time aurora maps so you do not have to. Comment your city below and tell me if you see auroras tonight. A long exposure on your phone or camera can reveal more than your eyes can see. Share this and follow @DivyaFindsYou if you want fast, verified updates on this solar storm, impact zones and the current Ring of Fire situation. #solarstorm #spaceweather #aurora #northernlights #solarflare #cme #coronalmass ejection #noaa #g4storm #s4storm #gps #satellite #powergrid #technology #science #space #spaceweatheralert #ringoffire #earthquakes #volcanoes #naturaldisaster #breakingnews #worldnews #fyp #reels #viralreels #watchtotheend #explorepage #divyafindsyou

warning of a coming “dark and frozen world” can feel unsettling, but there is no scientific evidence that Earth is about to lose sunlight or enter an end of the world scenario. The Sun is a stable star, monitored constantly by astronomers, and nothing indicates it will suddenly vanish or shut off. If the #Sun did somehow #disappear a purely hypothetical thought experiment #Earth would indeed #cool #rapidly and darkness would fall. However, this scenario belongs to physics simulations, not real world forecasts. Even major solar events like flares or storms cannot extinguish sunlight or freeze the planet within days. These images serve better as reminders of how dependent life on Earth is on the Sun, not as predictions of imminent catastrophe. According to solar physicists and space agencies, there is no global event next week that will plunge Earth into darkness or ice only the usual rhythm of seasons, weather, and our planet’s ongoing orbit around a stable star. While you were sleeping, we were doing science 😴 NASA and NOAA satellites can detect Earth’s nightlights. These images are gorgeous, but they can also help identify blackouts after disasters, monitor fishing activity, better track space weather, and more! NASA Astronaut Captures Rare “Sprite” Lightning From Space Over the U.S. & Mexico! A NASA astronaut aboard the ISS has captured a stunning red sprite lightning event glowing above the clouds. These rare flashes happen high in Earth’s atmosphere and are still one of the biggest mysteries in space weather. 🌩️✨ This incredible moment proves how wild and beautiful our planet really is! 🌍 #NASAAstronaut #SpriteLightning #ISS #SpaceFacts #ViralUSA

This scene reveals the Sun releasing immense eruptions of plasma and light Powerful waves of energy surge outward from the solar surface into space A telescope captures these events showing the dynamic and restless nature of our star Solar eruptions occur when magnetic fields twist and suddenly realign The released energy travels across the solar atmosphere influencing space weather Such activity can affect satellites communication systems and Earth magnetic conditions The captured visuals highlight the raw power contained within the Sun They offer scientists valuable insight into stellar behavior and cosmic forces This observation deepens understanding of how solar energy shapes our universe #joyyboie

Glow mode: activated. ✨🌍 This timelapse taken from the International Space Station shows green aurora ribbons dancing across our planet while the thin orange glow of Earth’s atmosphere traces the edge of home. Auroras occur when charged particles from the Sun collide with gases in Earth’s atmosphere, guided by our planet’s magnetic field. Oxygen produces green and red light, while nitrogen contributes blues and purples — a luminous reminder that Earth is constantly interacting with space weather far beyond what we can see from the ground. Captured from orbit, where science and awe meet every 90 minutes.

We have another chance to see the northern lights yall!! NOAA is forecasting another active evening across the northern Hemisphere. Areas in red on the first map have the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights overhead. Those farther south may have the chanceto capture the glow on the horizon using the night mode or long-exposure mode on their cameras. That may again include Florida! The prime time (for now) is looking to be 7 PM-11 PM. Space weather forecasting is very tough! So keep an eye on the sky and send me any photos you may get:) #auroraborealis #northernlights

The Sun is not just light—it’s raw power. ☀️ Every single hour, Earth receives more energy from the Sun than humanity uses in an entire year. What you’re seeing here is the Sun’s chromosphere, a turbulent layer where solar flares, plasma flows, and magnetic storms are born. This energy shapes space weather, affects satellites, and reminds us how small yet connected we are to our star. We haven’t mastered capturing it fully—but the future of clean energy is already shining above us. #nasa #sun #sky #power #viralvideos

In 1989, a single solar storm knocked out power for millions in under two minutes. Space weather isn’t just a solar event. Solar storms can disrupt signals, overload power grids, and damage satellites in orbit. That’s why scientists constantly monitor the Sun. It’s the only storm that can affect every orbit at once. #NRO #NationalReconnaissanceOffice #SpaceWeather #SolarStorms #IntelInOrbit

The Solar Ultraviolet Imager (SUVI) onboard NOAA’s GOES East (GOES-19) satellite captured this coronal mass ejection (CME) on August 5. According to the NWS Space Weather Prediction Center, combined effects from the CME and a coronal hole high speed stream are expected to cause geomagnetic storms on August 8–9. NOAA’s SWFO-L1 satellite, scheduled to launch this fall, will improve our ability to monitor and predict this kind of solar activity and space weather, which can severely impact the nation’s satellites, power grids and communications systems. * * #GOESEast #GOES19 #SWFOL1 #Satellite #Satellites #Imagery #SatelliteImagery #Sun #Solar #SpaceWeather #CoronalMassEjection #CME #GeomagneticStorm
