THTTC over 40? Here’s what you need to know 👇🏻
1 - Don’t hang around, especially if you want more than one child! If you are considering IVF and you have a low AMH then waiting maybe detrimental (although if you have a low AMH IVF may not be the answer)
2 - nail your nutrition, sleep and exercise, it’s harder to get pregnant over 40, that’s a fact, so to give yourself the best chance you need to be healthy day to day, you don’t need to be perfect, far from it, but look after yourself
3 - Make sure you use a decent ovulation tracker like @ovusense and are not relying on an app that maybe giving yourself incorrect info about your fertile window
4 - Get your partners sperm in tip top condition, egg quality will decline quicker than sperm in relation to age generally and the better sperm you have the more chance you have of a healthy pregnancy. Run comprehensive sperm testing (not just a sperm analysis)
What not to worry about when TTC over 40 👇🏻
1 - Testing EVERYTHING - this will waste valuable time and you will be spending money on tests you may not need. Keep it simple (unless you have a history of fertility problems and it’s a bit more complex)
2 - Being perfect! It’s impossible and will cause you no end of stress, focus on a healthy lifestyle and know that the odd coffee or wine won’t be the deal breaker

One app says my period will arrive tomorrow (Flo) which I’ve been tracking on for around 4 months now, and the other is saying next Tuesday (pre-mom) which I’ve been tracking on for 2 months and I feel is potentially the more reliable one and just prefer that one now with tracking my ovulation 💕 but I guess you can’t rely on apps entirely 😂🤦🏼♀️ sending you love and positivity this cycle 🤍🤍🤍🫶 #ttc #fertility #fertilityover35 #fertilityover40

A few nights ago my period was 2–3 days late and I spiraled thinking about how tired I’ve been (because that’s usually my first symptom). I drove to Target, grabbed a test, and only recorded it “just in case” it was positive.
The whole experience felt so isolating. Thinking about all the “what ifs” — sitting there wondering if the test was wrong… thinking it might be a false negative… testing again the next morning just to be sure.
Woke up. Another negative. But my period has never been this late so I still didn’t really believe it.
Then finally, at 4am the next night — my period showed up. 4-5 days later. And the relief was immediate.
Because right now? We are at capacity. Mentally. Emotionally. Physically.
And in that moment I wondered… do other moms navigate this too? The sheer panic when your period is late…
My purpose on this app is to make you feel less alone so that’s why I’m sharing this little part of my journey. Because if you’ve been here — grabbing pregnancy tests and spiraling because you don’t know how tf you could handle growing and raising another human starting right now…you’re not alone.
We love our boys more than anything. And if that test had been positive, we would have found the joy and figured it out.
Motherhood is beautiful, messy, overwhelming… and sometimes the most honest feeling is simply relief.
PS. you can use protection and still get pregnant so don’t come @ me, k thxxxxxx — I was panicking and tested because my period was 2-3 days late which is not normal for me
PSS. my husband being more concerned with my pee than with the test being messed up cracked me up when watching back
