His story is a reminder of the impact letters can have - while we might forget a name, the FEELING of connecting with another person via letters and the EXCITEMENT of meeting in person remain with us. #lettersfromhumanity I’m always on the lookout for stories about personal connections to letter writing. I loved hearing Jonathan’s story during a Dearist pop up shop at the Evereve store in Avalon, where he and his colleagues were bringing all the good vibes. Two simple rules to tell great stories. Here’s the first one. Hemingway said, “There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit at the typewriter and bleed” Stop editing while you write. Stop diluting your thoughts. It doesn’t mean you have to share what you wrote, but you must get it out and onto the paper so you can actually get to the real truth of what your soul is trying to say. That’s the only goal when you start. Once you are done (and you’ll know when you’re done), you can edit it.
