You might want to save this one and practice it. All movement matters… but this simple skill is one of the most important things you can work on, and yes, it could genuinely save your life. It doesn’t matter how you get up off the floor. What matters is that you can. This way might look simple, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. There are a few hands-free options… this just happens to be my preferred one. Most people struggle not because they’re “bad at movement”… but because they never practise it. And while care homes might feel a long way off, the reality is this: not being able to get up after a fall is one of the biggest reasons older adults lose independence. Use your hands while you practise, that’s absolutely fine. You’ll feel properly chuffed when you manage it hands-free. If knees are a bit grumpy, you’re not alone… I’ve been there too. Strive for progress not perfection ✨ - Esfuérzate por progresos no por perfección ❤️ Hace 2 meses decidí unirme al reto Slim Challenge de @train4live, donde tuve que entrenar todos los días durante 4 semanas. 💪🏼 Aunque al principio tenía muchas dudas sobre si iba a lograrlo o no, me di cuenta al final del reto que había sido una de las mejores decisiones que había tomado para mejorar mi estilo de vida! Este reto no solo me ayudo a crear un nuevo habito para mejor mi cuerpo si no que me enseño que cuento hay disciplina, controlamos nuestros pensamientos negativos y dejamos a un lado las excusas que nos desvían del objetivo, es realmente cuando vemos grandes cambios en nuestras vidas. Todavía sigo entrenando! No con tanta intencidad pero ya mas motivada al ver los grandes resultados de este reto. Si una de tus metas es mejorar tu cuerpo, salud o estilo de vida, espero que esta transformación te motive a dar el primer paso. Recuerda todo se empieza por pequeños cambios para ver grandes resultados! ❤️ Si tienes pregunta, déjamelas en un comentario. 💬 ___ 2 months ago I decided to join @train4live with @yaspersonaltrainer & @gutierrezary for the Slim Challenge, where I had to train every day for 4 weeks. 💪🏼 Although at first I had many doubts about whether I was going to make it or not, I realized at the end of the challenge that it had been one of the best decisions I had made to improve my lifestyle! This challenge not only helped me create a new habit to improve my body but also taught me that when we have discipline, control our negative thoughts and put aside the excuses that divert us from the goal, it is really when we see great changes in our lives. I'm still training! Not with so much intensity but definitely more motivated after seeing the great results of this challenge. If one of your goals is to improve your body, health or lifestyle, I hope this transformation motivates you to take the first step. The other group walked 7-8,000 steps per day. . Results: . ➡️ The group who walked 3,000 more steps lost 2️⃣x more weight and gained 3️⃣x better aerobic fitness over the 24 week period. . Key Takeaway: . The subjects were obese, so the results were likely far better than we would see in an more active population. . Still, If you’re trying to lose weight or improve fitness, this study would suggest that walking more steps could certainly help. 3,000 steps, for reference, is about 30 minutes of walking. . Could walking also increase other fitness outcomes like strength, muscle mass and mobility? . In my view…it’s highly likely. . We know that walking lowers stress, increases blood flow, increases movement of our joints, improves sleep quality and more. .
