On August 23, 2009, the Philadelphia Phillies led the New York Mets 9–7 in the bottom of the ninth at Citi Field.
With runners on first and second—Jeff Francoeur and Daniel Murphy—and no outs, Eric Bruntlett snagged a line drive off the bat of Luis Castillo, stepped on second base, and tagged Murphy as he broke from first.
In one sequence, the game was over.
It marked just the second unassisted triple play in Phillies history (joining Mickey Morandini in 1992) — and only the second unassisted triple play ever to end a game.
