4LThere is so much to be thankful for today exactly SIX MONTHS from the devastating Palisades & Eaton Fires that tore through our communities and left so many of our neighbors without a home.
We were INCREDIBLY lucky that our home survived, and although it will take months to make all of the repairs needed to get back to where we were before (new roof, garage, landscaping, plumbing, electric, solar, etc), it will be worth the wait.
The worst part is dealing with insurance. The best part is seeing so many people band together to help each other. 
Grateful for the leadership of @cagovernor @mayorofla @fema @usacehq @nationalguard and all of our friends and neighbors who came together to begin this long journey back as a community. 
I am SO GRATEFUL to live in the BEST STATE in the country. So proud of the resilience of my fellow Californians! #MalibuStrong #CaliforniaStrong ✊🏽

You can’t go wrong staying at a COE campground, there’s over 450 around the country and provide inexpensive camping opportunities!!
If you love camping near the water, this is the place to look. Since the Corps of Engineers focus on water infrastructure projects around the country, the campgrounds are almost always on a lake, river, reservoir or ocean.
All COE Campgrounds are found and bookable on Recreation. Gov, same place you will find National Park / Forest campgrounds and their day permits/passes
We had great time, and saving money felt even better!

WAThe new low flow weirs are in action! The in-water work window has closed and the contractors have packed up construction for the year. However, they will be casting more weirs in preparation for next year.
10 weirs have been completed, and 30 more will be ready to install next summer, during the next work window.
This project, funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, will modify 40 of the existing weirs within the federally owned and operated portion of the Mill Creek flood control channel, immediately downstream from the diversion dam.
The modified weirs will create flow velocities that will assist outmigration of juvenile salmonids and provide attraction flow for adults returning to spawning habitat upstream. These modifications will improve fish passage conditions for two fish species, mid-Columbia Steelhead and Bull Trout, listed as endangered or threatened under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). It will also benefit Spring Chinook salmon reintroduced under a program managed by the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR).
