GRBut here’s what many people don’t talk about.
Waterleaf should never replace a balanced ration. It is a supplement, not a substitute. Too much of it without proper concentrate feed can reduce growth performance because pigs still need adequate protein and energy for weight gain.
When used correctly:
• It can improve gut movement
• It may reduce boredom in confined pigs
• It adds hydration support
• It can slightly lower feeding cost when combined properly
The mistake is not in giving waterleaf.
The mistake is not understanding how much and when.
Some farmers swear by it.
Others say it slows growth.
The difference is usually in management.
And honestly, the farmers who understand balance are the ones seeing better results.
There’s a reason some pigs grow fast even on simple systems… and others struggle on expensive feed.
Interesting how small decisions quietly change profit.
