AIAt 13, I wanted to be a YouTuber. At 24, I fulfilled half that dream and worked for one of the biggest YouTube channels in the world.
But before that, there were years no one saw. Three dropped university degrees, thousands of cold DMs that got nothing back, a Malaysian restaurant kitchen where I washed dishes past midnight while editing videos on my laptop, and a one-way ticket to Melbourne with my last $1,000 and no plan B. Nobody gave me a shot. I got told “no” until I stopped counting. Then Yes Theory happened, and I finally got the chance.
Recently I’ve noticed that the way I express my feelings and my learnings is through video and every time I post something that isn’t moving my dream forward, I burn out. That’s why I’m finally telling the full story, over the next two weeks, piece by piece.
I’m Aidan Chua. A 🇵🇭 born in Brisbane, Australia. Still chasing the dream of becoming a creator full-time and getting paid for it. Learning about my culture, identity and who I really am is my North Star.
