Canyoneering This is how we see Zions without crowds. What is canyoneering? Canyoneering is starting at the top of a slot canyon and rappelling your way down. There is more to it than that. There is a level of expertise and experience needed to stay safe. There are canyoneering techniques that differ from those of rock climbing. My husband has taught my boys so I have my own “guide company” at my fingertips 😜. A few tips: - Guides are not allowed in Zion so take a friend who is knowledgeable - Hire a company to take you outside the park. There are several beautiful canyons that are not technically in Zion. - Choose a wet canyon in the summer to help you stay cool. - If you have someone who can take you, remember that canyons in Zion need a permit. This canyon is called Spry and this is a section of the approach.
