At HEBx, pairing isn’t something you finish. It’s something you maintain. Every session. Within session. Pairing does not mean avoiding instruction. It does not mean delaying learning. It means tracking preferences in real time, and progressing mindfully and knowing when a learner is open to engagement— and when they’re not. There is a lot of conflicting information out regarding ABA Therapy. Aba = Applied Behavior Analysis is a therapy based on the science of learning and behavior. I’m the type of person that educates myself until I fully understand benefits and then I give it a try. Maison attends aba full day 5 days a week. We pulled him out of pre k. I felt that he was not growing or learning and he was only able to go to pre k half day. Aba therapy is covered by insurance and after reading lots of reviews on different centers and taking a few tours I found the one that was perfect for him. Here are a few tips for you to find a good center: -Make sure it’s play based or centered. -Make sure they want to educate you (parent trainings) -See if they can send pics and videos During the day. -Tour the center and read google reviews before you pick one. -Make sure you are part of creating his plan, goals and future goals I love our aba family. Yes I said family because they are a part of our team and village. They give me parent training every other week and lots of what I know and share comes from them. I get a lot of questions about aba and this post is not to sway you one way or the other because only you know what works for your family. It’s simply to show some of the beautiful experiences I see when videos and pictures come to me all day long from his aba center. What has been your experience with aba??
