If your car’s AC compressor clutch is not engaging, the issue may be a faulty clutch coil (magnet). Here’s a step-by-step guide to replacing it:
Required Tools:
✔ Socket wrench set
✔ Pliers or screwdriver
✔ New compressor clutch coil (magnet)
✔ Spanner set
✔ Electrical tester
Step-by-Step Replacement Process:
Disconnect the Battery
First, disconnect the negative terminal of the car battery to avoid any electrical issues.
Access the Compressor
In some vehicles, you may need to remove the serpentine belt and other components to reach the AC compressor.
Remove the Clutch Plate
Use a socket wrench to remove the center bolt of the clutch plate.
Gently pull out the clutch plate using a puller if necessary.
Remove the Pulley
Use a snap ring plier to remove the retaining clip holding the pulley.
Carefully slide the pulley off the compressor shaft.
Remove the Old Clutch Coil (Magnet)
Locate and remove the retaining clip or screws holding the coil.
