• Install a code editor (VS Code, PyCharm, etc.)
• Day 1-3: Learn variables, data types, and basic I/O
• Problem 1: Print “Hello, World!”
• Problem 2: Take two numbers as input and print their sum
• Day 4-6: Learn conditionals and loops
• Problem 1: Check if a number is even or odd
• Problem 2: Print numbers from 1 to 10 using a loop
• Day 7-9: Learn functions and basic logic
• Problem 1: Write a function to find factorial
• Problem 2: Check if a number is prime
• Day 10-12: Learn lists and strings
• Problem 1: Reverse a string
• Problem 2: Find the largest number in a list
• Day 13-14: Learn basic error handling and dictionaries
• Problem 1: Handle divide-by-zero error
• Problem 2: Count character frequency in a string
• Day 15: Build a mini project using what you’ve learned

THHow I learned to code with MINIMUM experience 👩🏾💻
🔹️1. I chose 1 programming language to start which was @matlab. The reason I chose this language was because most of the example code scripts I received from my boss were MATLAB files📑. So, to make things easier I decided to stick with it and expand my knowledge.
🔹️2. I chose 1 project. The first task of independent coding I preformed was to extract colorectal cancer patient data from cBioportal and the associated clinical features and perform a Kaplan Meier analysis on the data📈.
This was a struggle🙋🏾♀️, it took months, but I got there in the end and learned so much. Even to this day I still use the same code.
🔹️3. I completed FREE online courses. The majority of courses I completed were the self-paced MATLAB fundamental courses @mathworks .
These were super helpful to reminded me of the basics!
✨️Other tips I suggest:
💡 Ask for help when you need it - you're not going to know everything straight away, there are many people around you who are much more experienced and willing to help, build the courage and ask!
💡 YouTube & Google - what more can be said? At times they are genuinely a life saver.
💡 Books - Sometimes those ancient books at the back of the library come in clutch 📚. If you don't want to buy the book, I recommend your university / local library for some coding books in the language you're learning.
These were the major points that have helped me and still help me!

COOn 14th October, we celebrated Ada Lovelace Day at Miranda House, honouring the women in STEM.
The event began with “Lovelace Legacy: The AI Quiz Challenge,” followed by an engaging speaker session on “Ada Lovelace to Generative AI: Milestones in Programming Language Development.”
The day concluded with a Study Abroad Session.
A celebration of innovation, intellect, and the inspiring legacy of women in technology.
