I think the craziest thing about an injury is how fast everything changes. One day you’re moving nonstop, pushing your limits every single day… and the next, getting off the couch feels like a win. This isn’t about feeling sorry for me. It’s about remembering what I’m working back toward. I’m learning to slow down. To be intentional. To build a stronger, smarter version of myself— one that comes back harder than ever. #InjuryRecovery #ComebackSeason #AthleteMindset #TrustTheProcess #StillClimbing

Some people are born to fight. Not in a ring. Not for attention. But for progress. For peace. For performance. ACL rehab taught me that. Not because it was hard, but because it was humbling. One day you feel like an athlete. The next, you’re learning to walk again. No one sees the late nights spent icing, The slow steps when stairs feel like mountains, Or the frustration when the knee just won’t cooperate. But some of us don’t quit. We adapt. We learn. We fight. Through setbacks. Through pain. Through doubt. Because we’re not chasing perfect. We’re chasing possible. Every inch of progress is earned, not given. Rehab doesn’t build your body. It reveals your mindset. Some people are born to fight, and that’s what gets them back. 👇 Tag someone who’s built different. Or drop a 🛡️ if this hit home.

People are waiting to be inspired by you, whether they say it out loud or not. Get yourself out there and do exactly what you were chosen to do. INSPIRE. Trust me. Everything shifted the moment I tore my left bicep tendon and rotator cuff on 30 Jan 2025 and had surgery. Confusion set in. Then blamed depression, frustration, anger. I had every emotion imaginable running through my head. I questioned myself. I questioned the timing. Then I remembered who I am and what this moment truly meant. This wasn’t punishment. This was alignment. God’s timing. The purpose behind it would reveal itself in due time. Fast forward to today on 30 Jan 2026, you know the countless reps, endless physical therapy sessions, quiet battles no one sees. And here I stand more driven, more motivated, more intentional with my daily habits than ever before. Focused. Grounded. Hungry. I’m not just healing. I’m preparing. Eager not just to return but to finally step fully into my purpose and finish what I was called to do. #athlete #allin #fitspo #rotatorcuffrecovery #earnednotgiven

I didn’t change because I suddenly felt motivated. I changed because there was nowhere left to hide. This injury took more than my knees. It took my routine. My training. The identity I’d been leaning on for years. No gym. No structure. No distractions. Just time, pain, and the uncomfortable truth that how I’d been doing things wasn’t enough anymore. Rehab wasn’t just about getting my legs working again. It taught me patience when nothing was moving. Discipline when progress was slow and invisible. Consistency when there was no reward attached. What you see after this isn’t a comeback story. It’s basics done properly. Turning up to rehab. Training with intent instead of ego. Building something outside the gym that actually lasts. Helping lads who feel stuck because I know exactly what that feels like. Sometimes you don’t level up because you want to. You level up because the old version of you stops working. If you feel backed into a corner right now, good. That’s usually where real change starts.

Today marks two weeks since my ACL reconstruction surgery. While I’m making great progress and staying ahead of the curve, it hasn’t been easy. The pain, the limitations, and not being able to move the way I normally do has been extremely challenging. Anyone who knows me knows I’m not someone who can sit still for long — this forced slowdown was hard. But in many ways, it was also a blessing. It made me slow down, think, and truly reflect on my future plans and goals. Going from being a high-functioning athlete to relearning the basics — how to walk, go up and down the stairs, sit, stand — was humbling. But as I always say: “Basics never fail you.” Some days feel like an uphill battle. But you don’t stare at the mountain — you look at your feet, take one step at a time, and keep moving forward. Now I’m feeling stronger, better, and more mobile every single day. I’m incredibly grateful for the support system around me — my wife, my kids, my team @pentagonmma, and the amazing PT crew at @msrphysicaltherapy, who are helping me recover faster and come back even stronger. If you’re going through injury, surgery, or any setback right now — don’t give up. Progress may be slow but still progress. Never. Ever. Quit. 💪🏽🙏🏽 #muaythai #recovery #martialarts #fightsports #pentagonmma

2026 is the new 2016? Cool trend. But for me… 2016 was the year everything changed. That was the year I tore my ACL. The year I lost trust in my body. The year I sat on the sidelines, pretending I was okay — when I wasn’t. Back then, rehab meant: 🩼 “Wait it out” 📅 “Follow the timeline” 🤞 “Hope it holds up” No one taught me how to rebuild trust. No one trained my brain, my tendon, or my decision-making under pressure. Just clearance. Just checkboxes. It took me years to realize: I didn’t need comfort. I needed capacity. I didn’t need more reassurance. I needed exposure. It’s 2026 now. And I don’t rehab like it’s 2016 anymore. I build standards. I train chaos. I teach athletes to earn confidence — not wait for it. 🧠 Because I know what it’s like to feel lost… And I never want another athlete to feel that way again. 🗓 When was your surgery or injury that changed everything? Drop the year below 👇 — let’s see how far you’ve come.

Saturday night I was lying in a hospital bed with a hole in my ankle. A tackle at football ended with a stud through my leg and a dent in the tibia. Surgery on Sunday morning wasn’t quite how I planned to start my birthday week. Now I’m on crutches, keeping the leg elevated and taking a little time away from training. What’s funny is that just a few days earlier things were going really well. Business was in a good rhythm. I’d been playing some of my best football of the season. And in the gym, I’d just hit a milestone I’d been working towards for a while. On Friday, I benched 100kg for the first time. The Monday before that I hit 95kg x4. The goal of 100kg for two controlled reps is very close. That progress took months of small, fairly unexciting sessions. No shortcuts. No magic programme. Just showing up and doing the work. And now this week looks completely different. No training. Crutches. A bit of patience required. But here’s the thing most people forget: One bad week doesn’t undo months of progress. In the same way one good week doesn’t build it either. Progress is built slowly, and protected by how you respond when things don’t go to plan. Most people don’t struggle because they’re lazy. They struggle because they panic when progress slows or life gets messy. The people who succeed are usually the ones who stay patient, and keep showing up when they can. If you’re playing the long game, you’re probably doing it right. #personaltrainer #strengthtraining #strengthgoals #puregym #westonsupermare
