If you’re having trouble with pulling off the ball, angled soft toss is a STAPLE for getting better direction.
Set up with tosser at your front hip and tossing across the plate - aiming for the outside corner.
This forces hitters to stay in the zone and not pull their body off the ball. The key here is trying to stay off the L-Screen, forcing you to use the big part of the field.

After my last smith machine post, a number of you asked about the hip thrust.
When hip thrusting on an angled machine you want to set up so the bar is moving away as you raise your hips.
💡Think - FORWARD & UP.
Why? Facing this direction more accurately mimics the bar path of a free weight barbell or dumbbell hip thrust…which isn’t just straight up and down.
You can take the hip thrust through a more natural movement pattern, while still getting the benefits of stability of the smith machine. 👏🏼
